In some states Gift Certificates don't expire

Digging through some old paperwork on my desk I found a Amazon.com gift certificate, and was really annoyed to see that it had expired 12/31/00. I decided to try it anyway and it was rejected, but a little message came up saying if I was in Cal, or a few other states that had laws restricting expiration, I should contact customer service. I emailed them, and just got a reply, they agree to abide by the law and gave me the full credit for the gift certificate on my order.

so i'm guessing cali ppl don't get much gift certificates and coupons.... how the hell does that work? no expiration? never?

just dont try to use any cyberrebate gift certificates, they are beyond expiried

Yeah, that's absolutely true. I had 2 expired Amazon.com GCs that I forgot to use and called CS and had them extend the deadline another 6 months so I could use them. California considers them as "cash" I guess, so the value should not disappear.
