Like the title says, I'm in the market for a 1070. I was waiting for the $379 cards to appear (foot in mouth) but that looks like that's not happening anytime soon and I saw some interesting cards for $429 so I thought I'd investigate.
The gigabyte g1 gaming is going for $429, has 3 fans and an aluminum backplate. I was only able to find one review outside of Amazon's at guru3d and it was pretty positive. What is the consensus on this model/style (from past gpu generations) and gigabyte as a videocard brand in general?
I saw the msi armor 8g oc for the same price, 2 fans albeit larger but no backplate. How does this/msi compare?
I'm trying to convince myself that $50 more isn't so bad ($379+$50 = $429) as I wanted to keep my gpu purchase under $400.. But I digress.. If and when $379 1070s ever come out, how much different will they be? Will they use lower quality components? obviously lower clocks but will they essentially be the same we have now with just a settled market? ..any insight would be greatly appreciated.. To that and what the best 1070 to get is in that price range (≤$429). Thanks
