Doesn't TankGuys tell you the stepping? I heard they do but you pay extra for the service. Its what I have heard anyway.

Sweet. Please do let us know how it goes. It looks like after all was said and done the NCIX came out to $300 USD shipped to southern CA which is actually a pretty decent price.

I've got a pre-order with TankGuys as well. The latest news from them is that they have a supplier that said they could fill their order on 8/2 which means they would get the Q6600's on 8/6 BUT the supplier didn't guarantee G0 stepping so TankGuys is not sure if that will even work. I would gladly lose the $5 pre-order deposit if I could be reasonably certain I would get the G0 somewhere else in a shorter period of time. As it stands now, my entire new computer is sitting completely put together but is missing a CPU. :-( Maybe I should just pull the trigger on NCIX. I have no patience.

For any of you that pre-ordered G0 steppings at TankGuys, I just got this email!

Finally, some light at the end of the tunnel. There is strong indication that we will begin filling orders around August 6th. This is not yet set in stone, but preliminary reports from one of our major suppliers says that our order has been allocated, and will be filled the first couple days of next month. While this is not yet guaranteed, all signs look good so far.

In my experience, the guy who runs TankGuys doesn't give out any information until he is very sure it is real info. So it looks like TankGuys will be getting a G0 shipment around 8/6. Should be < $300 or else all the pre order deposits will be refunded if you back out.

Damn, NCIX actually had the Q6600 G0 for $267 USD at one point yesterday. It's currently $295 with the cheapest shipping at $20 but you at least are guaranteed a G0. And they supposedly just received around 3,000 of them, so they have plenty.

Reading the ncix forums and the threads below, everyone since Saturday has been receiving G0 steppings. Folks receiving order confirmations over the last couple of days receive the s/n for their part showing the g0 stepping.

Hmm, if its G0 now then I'd think its worth the 20 dollars shipping. However it would suck if I ended up getting a B3.

they have a very prominent disclaimer saying that they cannot guarantee specific steppings. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have that displayed if they had only G0 chips right now. Plus, they could easily command a premium with G0 chips.

They just added that disclaimer late today ..

They were getting a lot of e-mails asking for guarantee..

Everyone posting in their forums is saying they are either receiving G0's on orders placed
on 23rd or later, or that they are seeing only G0's in the retail stores..

Price was $284 US earlier today .. Looks like they decided to cash in on the demand for G0 ..
Can't blame them ..

Everyone since Saturday has reported getting a G0 from NCIX, including a few folks who ordered yesterday and got their's overnight'd. A few folks have called today and been told by the CSR that all of their current stock is G0.
