Silly as this sounds I respectfully disagree.I have to say I don’t think I would ever think it merited an op-ed but it’s not like she’s wrong. What kind of psychopath goes around making out with people in comas?
There are all sorts of incredibly fucked up things in fairy tales that we take for granted because we’ve heard them so many times. Cannibalism, self-amputation, etc. etc. Even the Disneyfied versions are pretty fucked up. Look at Beauty and the Beast, where a guy is cursed for life for not letting a stranger into his house and then decides to fix the problem by kidnapping a woman’s father only to trade the father’s life for hers so he can Stockholm Syndrome her into bed. That’s pretty horrible! If I had kids I would tell them not to do that if they get turned into a beast.
