Ok, how about a solution or does it mean we just have to accept this as the norm? A high school dropout can make an IED so taking away firearms won't impact someone who has been considering this kind of incident.

So anyone else? If I were to want to cause destruction by whatever means, I just post on Facebook and off I go? This is either acceptable or not?

It's not that you're wrong, it's just that it always appears very easy to ID these sociopaths after they have committed their crimes--when there is a target to begin your searching. This guy, before he made the news, probably had a Facebook page that would pass off like any other sociopathic gun nutter conservative facebook page that you see on at least 60 million or more across the country. ...which one do you decide, prior to the event, is actually going to go out and trip over their own balls trying to wreak holy vengeance on the world?

If it were so easy to perfectly identify future behavior based on current evidence, then the stock market would never work.

He was looking directly at the reporter when the picture was taken. I guess he wanted the reporter to document his actions.

This guy is sort-of a borderline-case, I suppose. Probably had some plan to harm others but wasn't up to accomplishing it, for whatever reason. And hence will get nothing like the attention the mass killers do.

This guy failed to be a mass murderer only by stupid chance. For several reasons that added up there was not many people there that day. Just on the other side of the doors he was firing into is a fairly tight hall way filled with people most of the time. Most days there is a long of people just inside that door, going back and forth like a damn ride at Disneyland, because the security checkpoint is about 30 feet inside. Just on the other side of security is the IRS TAC office, and they only allow 2 people in at a time, so most of the time there is a long line just along the wall in line with that door. The Monday before when I got to work at about 8:30 or so there was probably 100 people in that little entrance hall area.

I'm glad the discussion has turned to how this dickless incel may or may not have properly arranged his loadout. It's the first step towards dismissing any reporting on it simply because somebody somewhere called it a "clip" or an assault rifle or some other dickless NRA-approved nonsense.

basically: nothing can be a thing anymore because the demographic that has unambiguously run the western world and many parts of the rest of it for the last 2000 and more years have now determined that they will be offended if people say bad things about them and it is just unfair and hurtful and how dare you be so mean to point out their generations of weaknesses and even evil. It ignores all of the great things they have done for you and for sure: they are now being treated worse than any group in human history has ever been treated. What a shame.
