So far the reviews are lining up with everything I expected for this movie. One of the few movies, that before I actually go see it, I have such lofty expectations.
But, like the OP said, I have thoroughly enjoyed every single movie the Nolan's have crafted.
And very glad they are taking their ideas to such massive proportions, such massively produced films, and yet still maintaining that Nolan feel. Sometimes the amazing writer-director's either lose their touch or the Hollywood machine makes them lose that original character of their work as the budgets increase.
I love the new Batman movies, but I for one am super excited that at least they are seemingly cranking out awesome movies in-between the Batman films.
Memento was before the Batman movies, and awesome.
The Prestige was after Batman Begins, and awesome.
Inception is after The Dark Knight, and looks to be awesomely awesome.
If the trend continues, we might have an "OMG the budget is how big?!" type movie after the next Batman, and it mind literally melt our gray matter.
And let us not forget how impressively awesome the new Batman series has been thus far. It might not be a style of Batman an individual enjoys, but to say the movies, as movies, are nothing short of amazing, would be ludicrous.
Batman Begins was an epically-crafted film on its own, and it helps the characters were top-notch.
The Dark Knight, while a little more of a "bells and whistles" type of production, still had amazing directing, top-notch acting and characters, and still maintained that amazingly-conceived dark and ominous feel.
