It looks really good from all of the previews. However, I am a little worried if RottenTomatoe is into it, their views on what makes a movie good are so skewed and biased its pitiful.

RottenTomatoes doesn't get "into" movies, they don't have an opinion. They merely aggregate professional reviews, something like Metacritic but they have a different method of determining the score shown on the site.

If you want to see the opinions from the people behind the RT site, go read the Inception review on IGN.
Never mind, that had been the case... Flixster apparently now owns RT instead of it being an IGN subsidiary (which is itself a subsidiary of News Corp).

I like Leo and Nolan but didn't think this was going to be all that good even from the dramatically-done previews. I mean that line "I can enter your dreams" or whatever made me think of The Cell or Nightmare on Elm Street and reflexively I would just roll my eyes. But we'll see I guess, please stop using Rotten Tomatoes though, Metacritic is better, cleaner, covers more than movies, and IMO rates critic reviews more accurately.

Meh, and both Rottentomatoes and Metacritic have it at 100% for now. Of course that is with only 6 or so reviews up so who knows how it will end up. Typically something starting this good will stay in the 90's for either site.

Depends what you consider 'elite', but personally I think he's pretty up there already. He's definitely shattered all of my old assumptions that he was just a pretty boy who couldn't really act.

He's already proven himself to be part of the so called 'acting elite' by his performances in Blood Diamond and The Departed. IMO DiCaprio is one of the best actors out there now.

Growing Pains was a good jumping off point for him. This Boy's Life, The Basketball Diaries, Romeo + Juliet and Gilbert Grape came before Titanic and were all great performances IMO. Then after The Beach (which I actually liked but wasn't his best job) there was Gangs of New York, Catch me if you Can, Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Departed seemingly all back-to-back, all terrific performances again. Now of course we got Shutter Island and Inception, I didn't see SI yet but doubt either of these will be a let-down. Leo does a good job picking his roles, even more so than Tom Cruise, because at this point he has the best quality over quantity ratio of any actor I can think of.

Please do, and I totally agree that DiCaprio has already established himself as part of the upper echelon of actors out there. I've enjoyed most of his movies and definitely consider him one of the best on the market. Don't forget Revolutionary Road and Body of Lies which were also excellent parts for him.

I just noticed on IMDB that he's supposed to be playing the part of J Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's next film. That should be interesting to see...

They had the trailer playing at the theater and every time that loud horn played, it made my hair stand u;p.

I honestly can't think of a Leonardo DiCaprio movie that has been bad in a LONG time.

I'm pretty sure he's one of those actors that is established enough he can be picky and only do movies he really likes and wants to do. I thought 'The Aviator' and 'The Departed' were both stellar movies.

Edit: oh and that one he did where he played a CIA operative with Russel Crowe was pretty well done as well.
