They still make over 4 billion a year on 1 drug, it is a most 70% of their income.

Calm down and take a deep breath.

Please tell me how much I should make. I need to know if I am making too much money. Its a simple question.

We need an excessive wealth tax. 5% tax on net wealth from 1 to 10 million, 10% on wealth from 10 to 100 million, and 20% tax on all net wealth over 100 million. This will be every year.

You are insane and dont understand how that would destroy wealth in this country.

All I know is charging people 140,000 a year for a drug they need to take for the rest of their life to live is an outrage.

Would things be better if that drug was never created at all? "hey, there's no medicine to treat your illness, but hey, congratulations, at least you don't have to pay those outrageous prices!".

So that means it will take 7 years just to recoup the costs of R&D, never mind any other costs like manufacturing, advertisement, distribution, etc, etc.

Change patents to 20 years or until total revenues are 300% of R&D.

I posted limits on wealth already, companies should be fined for compensation over 5 million a year, a 200% fine for each dollar of compensation over 5 million annually. Self employed people should have a 25% fine for each dollar of self employed income over 5 million. This is in addition to income tax.

Income tax also needs to be raised to 50% at 1 million.

No needs to make millions a year, and no one should be allowed to.

Agreed.... just don't touch incomes below half a million, they are taxed appropriately right now.

The minimal amount to prevent exposure and starvation. Any more than that is stealing from the needier among us and denying the funds needed to build the model society Eskimospy and his ilk dream of. And you should be cleaning the poor people's bathrooms while you're at it to make it more fair.

Why not just ration the amount of products a company can sell instead? We'll only allow the drug maker to sell enough product until the CEO $5MM salary can be paid and everyone after that is just SOL and can die without their drugs. Because it wouldn't be fair if they we let them purchase the drugs and thus provide the revenue needed to pay more than the $5MM salary.

Such needless anger and aggression over nothing.

This "income inequality" thing is still talked about and I don't understand it.

How much should a corporation make?
How much should a person make?
How much should a person get paid not to work?

On a related note, how is it right that I have to work my butt off to put food on the table, a roof over my family's head, internet and phone service, 2 cars, heat, ETC. but millions of people do not have to work to get those things? How is it right that the government takes money from me, to pay for those things for other people?

As far as I am concerned equal pay for equal work. None of this take advantage of people and pay them poorly for hard work just because you can shit.

So the guy sweeping the floor should get paid the same amount as the CEO?

That's called protecting your own. Equal distribution till it comes my turn to give. We have seen it plenty out of you.

Good work Comrade. There will be a little something extra in your pudding rations tonight.

Well no, because the CEO and the guy sweeping the floor aren't doing equal work:

Or just let them charge what the market will pay for the drugs rather than letting the government decide who the winners and losers are.

Wow, that is hard core. You actually want to remove government from the equation by eliminating government patents?

Personally, I think pharmaceuticals would rather agree to profit limits in exchange for government agreeing to eliminate competition for sufficient time to make that profit.

I didn't say remove patent, but what the hell good is a patent if you are only allowed to collect revenue that takes 7 years just to recoup R&D cost? That's just the break even point for one expense. Factor in the other expenses and you are easily looking at over 10 years just to break even, never mind make an actual profit. There isn't a business in he world that would take on that venture day after day.

Then take it away from private industry altogether and have the federal government fund the research and development. Take out the profit motive altogether. It would be much more cost effective for the American people.

You'd vastly limit the breadth of research that goes on and therefore drastically reduce discovery and innovation. Very counterproductive.

I wonder how much longer the moon landing would have taken if this had been the model.

However much you make needs to be taxed more. Also, however much wealth you have needs to be taxed more. Stop being a greedy piece of shit, you worm.
