I was right in my last statement though. You can't make this shit up.

I think that quote is pretty spot on. Who "supports the troops" and "backs the blue" and "thanks you for your service" (but not really because building a border wall is more important than funding the VA, apparently). The same people who will continue to vehemently defend these guns "because mah rights" in the face of mountains of bodies, with no thought given to re-evaluating their position in light of a changing society.

Edit: Why, in previous times, was the NRA a proponent of gun safety and regulation? Why were firearms like the AR-15 not shown at gun shows before? (That was back in the early 80s or so? Prior to that the NRA would prohibit it from being shown).

Well this is interesting. The story that was posted here of Fox News headline talking about religion after the shooting, is no longer a headline story. Instead another article has been put up. The Fox News GOP supporting cheerleaders have made quite horrifying claims. Some of which even go on to falsely state that there is nothing in the constitution about the separation of the Church and state.

40 years ago, 90% of Americans were Christians and attended church fairly regularly. America was a less violent place. Liberals went to war against Christianity and had any mention of God and the Ten Commandments removed. "Separation of church and State", they screamed, even though there is nothing in the Constitution stating that. The Constitution only says that there will not be an established State religion (like England had at the time). A Christian nation is a safer nation.

Hardly. The current interpretation of the 2nd is a recent thing and prior to 2008 the 2nd was a states rights issue. Simply stack the court with people who support the original intent of the constitution.

There are multiple ways around the amendment route. The 'Well regulated Militia' clause could be reestablished as important to the freedom.
Or how is it that automatic weapons and air to ground missiles didn't need an amendment to regulate?
We can do that same thing with any firearm we don't like. Just like they did with sawed off shotguns.
