I assume that you and SherEPunjab will never post in a thread about the US ever again since it is not allowed in your view to post about any other country.

Have a nice day.

LOL You sure picked on the wrong guy! I have always maintained that I will never post anything negative about the US or its policies where they don't concern me or my country of birth - check my posts - all of them. You would have had a point about Indians gloating over very little if only you had been objective about it. Instead, you chose to be partisan and whine about it. I agree, I do have a bit of a hang-up about defending my nation's honor and dignity. I am not ashamed; I could do worse, I suppose *shrugs*

Strange, I never used the word "gloat" at all. If you feel you have to make up what I posted to make your point( whatever that is) than it appears it will be useless to have a discussion with you.

My point was, why is this such a big deal in the news. It was one contrived war game, yet some are making such a big deal out of it. If you feel that is defending India's honor and dignity than you just go right on believing that.

SU-30 MKI that India is importing, and I believe will soon start building locally under license has thrust vectoring, giving it a very distinct advantage in a close range dogfight.
And as far as avionics, these are equipped with western and Israeli systems. Out of non-stealth fighters, this one is arguably second to none. I think the USAF pilots were simply outgunned, and will have to try again with the F-22, and hope for the best.
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Aircraft/Specs/Su-30.html
Avionics: The Su-30MKI features an all-weather, digital multi-mode, dual frequency, forward facing Phazotron N-011M radar which has a 350 km search range and a 200 km tracking range. The radar can track and engage 20 targets and engage the 8 most threatening simultaneously. These targets can include cruise/ballistic missiles and even motionless helicopters. The radar is combined with a helmet mounted sight system, which allows the pilot to turn his head in a 90º field of view, lock on to a target and launch the TVC-capable R-73RDM2 missile. The radar's forward hemisphere is ±90º in azimuth and ±55º in elevation. The N-011M ensures a 20 metre resolution detection of large sea targets at a distance up to 400 km, and of small size ones - at a distance of 120 km. Coupled with the air-launched BrahMos ASCM, the Su-30MKI will become an un-challenged platform for anti-ship duties. BrahMos is a result of a joint collaboration between India and Russia and is a variant of the Yakhont ASCM (which has not entered Russian Navy service). The aircraft also has a rearward facing NO12 radar - fitted in the tail sting - which alerts a pilot to the approach of an enemy aircraft on his tail. This radar has a range of 50 km for a 3 square metre RCS target and 100 km for larger ones. It features a surveillance area of ±60º in azimuth and elevation. It enables the pilot to fire the R-73RDM2 missile without turning to get a positive lock on the enemy aircraft. The missile will be launched as usual and will then flip 180º to intercept the enemy aircraft.
The second batch of eight aircraft (Su-30MK-IIs) would be delivered in 1998 and would be fitted with Sextant Avionique's avionics from France, liquid crystal multi-function displays (MFDs), a new flight data recorder, a dual ring laser gyro INS (inertial navigation system) with embedded GPS (Global Positioning Satellite), EW (Electronic Warfare) equipment procured from Israel's IAI (Israeli Aircraft Industries), a new electro-optical targeting system and a RWR (Radar Warning Receiver). The third batch of twelve aircraft (Su-30MK-IIIs) would be delivered in 1999 and would feature canard fore-planes and the last twelve aircraft (Su-30MK-IVs, also known as Su-30MKIs) would be delivered in 2000 and would add the single-axis, thrust-vectoring AL-31FP turbofans. The first 32 aircraft delivered would then be upgraded to the Su-30MKI variant, in a phased manner.

SONYFX, note the year "2000" ... this is now the year 2004 and the Sukhois have been upgraded by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), AFAIK. The IAF still lists the planes from initial batch as Su-30K in their ORBAT ... oversight? maybe ... u can call then Su-30Pansy if u want, they'd still have thrust-vectoring and be just as effective.

gloat:
2 : to observe or think about something with triumphant and often malicious satisfaction, gratification, or delight <gloat over an enemy's misfortune>.

I wasn't quoting you on 'gloat' either. I just used a more concise term for what you were accusing Indians on this board of doing (yeah, I know you didn't use the word 'accuse' either
)

While you're brushing up your language skills, look up the word "then" too.

Since you are unwilling to drop your pretense, the only remaining response to your question is, "It's none of your friggin' business".
