Hahahahahahahahahaha. Your proof is Miami beach. You literally drive across the bridge and you can pay 1.99.

Miami beach is a little island where the gas stations charge more for the suckers. Such a joke.

Gas prices in the middle of Manhattan are at almost $3.50! It must be the oil thugs.

The Oil Thugs just raised the price 80% on themselves from 24 cents a litre to 96 cents.

Long accustomed to cheap utilities and some of the lowest petrol prices in the world, Saudis woke to a shock Tuesday

Residents of the oil-rich Gulf kingdom have long enjoyed cheap prices on basic goods and services, but officials made clear that was no longer sustainable after the stunning drop in crude prices over the last 18 months.

Prices on fuel products were raised by up to 80 percent as of midnight, including a 50 percent jump in the price of the most commonly sold petrol to 0.90 riyals ($0.24) per litre.

Remember this day when in the spring the oil thugs say there is no oil because they shipped it all out of the country:

http://fortune.com/2015/12/31/tanker-crude-exports/?xid=yahoo_fortune

Tanker With First U.S. Crude Export in 40 Years to Set Sail

Oil companies ConocoPhillips COP 0.19% and NuStar Energy NS 6.79% are welcoming in the new year with a send-off of a oil tanker carrying U.S. oil for export.

Two weeks ago, President Obama signed legislation lifting the 40-year ban on exporting American crude.

The ConocoPhillips and NuStar Energy tanker will sell its wares to a Dutch oil trading firm, Vitol Group.

I can't really get a good bead on gas consumption. I think its actually fairly low despite increasing miles driven because of the CAFE standards.

Well.... Sarah Palin promised $2 a gallon gas, or was it Mitt?
Who knows, who cares.
All to be concerned about is that Obama delivered on that promise.
Credit deserved or nay, you must admit this DID happen under his administration.
You think Dick Cheney would give you $1.46 gas? Or more so, president Jeb?

Holy shit someone in this thread is dumber than dmcowen! I didn't believe it was possible! Congratulations, sportage! I admire your confidence.

High oil prices caused companies to spend the initial investment costs to begin operations pulling oil out of new places across the planet that previously oil sold for too little for someone to front such costs.

By your logic, I could also say high gas prices existed while Brett Favre was QB of the Packers, and low gas prices exist while Aaron Rodgers is QB of the Packers, therefore you must admit this DID happen under Aaron Rodgers leadership You think Seneca Wallace or Scott Tolzien would give you $1.46 gas?

If you actually want a history lesson involving Obama, when he campaigned in 2008, his intentions were to cause energy prices on fossil fuels to rise, making alternative sources more attractive in favor of solving global warming. Republicans stopped the cap & trade legislation. If you believe his desires were to only limit cap & trade to electricity & heating, while allowing untold amounts of carbon emissions flow out from cheap gasoline consumption...

To me, what this demonstrates, is that now Obama is the leader, he understands what the power of not causing gas prices to rise can do for a political party. But please don't be that dumbass who confuses not causing price raises with causing prices to fall. We have enough dumbasses around here. Don't be one.

Harwood, June 10, 2008: As difficult as this is for consumers right now, is, in fact, high gas prices what we need to let the market work, a line incentive so that we do shift to alternative means of energy?

Obama: Well, I think that we have been slow to move in a better direction when it comes to energy usage. And the president, frankly, hasn’t had an energy policy. And as a consequence, we’ve been consuming energy as if it’s infinite. We now know that our demand is badly outstripping supply with China and India growing as rapidly as they are. So…

Harwood: So could these high prices help us?

Obama: I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps right now to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly US automakers, then I think ultimately, we can come out of this stronger and have a more efficient energy policy than we do right now.

Crude Jumps With Energy Stocks on Saudi Tension

Crude oil surged after Saudi Arabia cut diplomatic ties with Iran amid escalating tension between the regional powers, buoying energy shares.

West Texas Intermediate rose 2.4 percent to $37.84 a barrel

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm sorry. I'm actually smiling. Thanks Dave.

Oil Prices Slide, as Persistent Oversupply Trumps Other Concerns
http://www.wsj.com/articles/oil-rises-in-asia-due-to-iran-saudi-arabia-tensions-1451875967

$36.72 a barrel.

And tomorrow they'll be up.... and the day after down again. I guess "up up up" for Dave means a one day rise.

When got back to Indy local stations were $1.89, tonight they jumped to $1.99

Going back up up and awayyyyyyyy

A little over a week ago you were complaining about how gas was $2.29, now you're complaining that gas has risen in price because it's $1.99?

I don't see how this thread is anything but trolling.

Highest Oil inventory in over 80 years, oil at $36 but gas prices going up.

Jumped the usual 30 cents today, they expect gas to be $3.50 by Christmas.

Hey look, another McOwned prediction which was completely and totally wrong. I know I'm shocked! Too bad the coward won't answer questions about yet another absurdly wrong prediction.

Here we 4 days later and oil is trading in the low $30 range. I guess down is the new up.

Good times!

I do think that Brian needs to update the title to let others know that the comedy club has arrived. Today's Gas Buddy says that REGULAR gas in Indy is ranging from $1.65 (lowest) to $2.09 (highest). If you only look at the most expensive stations, or only buy premium gas, you are going to pay above average.
