He needs to start a thread about almonds so he can complain about greedy growers, rip-off supermarkets, weather related crop failures, political county water wars, land utilization.
Cause every season almonds up and down in price, could it be the government manipulating prices? Cmon people wake up!

Another 10 cent increase overnight to $1.69

Funny I thought of your drive for $5 while checking out the gas thread in ot. I was wondering if you were questioning all your conspiracy theory’s yet. I guess not. Don't worry Dave we'll get to $5 eventually we all know it. Your older ain't you? You might be dead by the time it happens. Don't worry well all remember that crazy son of a bitch was right when the time comes.

This is the longest running jokes I have ever witnessed. We are well over a decade on the drive to 5. Right now we are on the drive to 1.05. Which if anybody knows is what Freedom!!!!!!!!!!! costs.

Quite a few unemployed Americans would love to see oil go back to the $50-$60/bbl range as it would put many of them back to work.

After being unemployed for 5 months I'm going back to work tomorrow and thankfully the company I'll be working for does more work for the chemical industry than it does for the oil industry so it's not at the mercy of the oil prices.

I saw a shpeel on this a couple weeks ago on CBS Sunday Morning, and I must say it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The author wanted us to feel sorry for the oil companies and all these people without work now. But if the only reason these people had a job in the first place was because oil prices were artificially inflated. If I had a job knowing that it was because of this fact, there is no way I wouldn't be standing ready to push out my resume to dozens of companies at a moment's notice.

Not all people are that lucky. Many of the skills are specific to the industry and when the industry turns there is no place to turn for a comparable salary.

These are people that are raping the land, and taking advantage of natural resources, that in a socialist/communist perspective of the world, could be ours.

The problem is low gas prices helps the country a lot more then when it's high as we have seen.

Obviously for some countries like russia or even canada they like high prices for their exports.

On a side note prices may go up in awhile:

This thread is being left open at this time but beware, dear casual poster, but Dave often cites numbers that cannot be substantiated, at least in this particular universe. Proceed accordingly.

whoa, celebrating that new job early i see?

I borrowed money from myself, so the car is mine. I will take the money I would have paid for a car loan and put it in my Roth IRA. With my new job, 40% of my salary will cover my bills. I get 1.5x pay over 8 hours and 2x over 12 and holidays. Most jobs I will average 72 hours a week.

Gas just dropped to $1.59 from $1.63 this afternoon.

I guess they didn't get the official memo to up the prices.
