After being unemployed for 5 months I'm going back to work tomorrow and thankfully the company I'll be working for does more work for the chemical industry than it does for the oil industry so it's not at the mercy of the oil prices.

If I had a job knowing that it was because of this fact, there is no way I wouldn't be standing ready to push out my resume to dozens of companies at a moment's notice.

Not all people are that lucky. Many of the skills are specific to the industry and when the industry turns there is no place to turn for a comparable salary.

The problem is low gas prices helps the country a lot more then when it's high as we have seen.

Obviously for some countries like russia or even canada they like high prices for their exports.

OPEC freeze leads to Oil jumping $5 and still climbing.
Stock Market up triple digits.

Would not be surprised to see 60 cent jump at the pump tonight back into $2.50 range.
