This is without the normal annual "We can't make the summer blend gas that we have to make every year" bullshit yet:

http://fox59.com/2016/03/20/gas-prices-jump-by-17-cents-over-past-two-weeks-to-2-02/

Gas prices jump by 17 cents over past 2 weeks, to $2.02

The average price of gasoline has jumped by 17 cents over the past two weeks, to $2.02 a gallon for regular grade.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday that the hike is due to growing demand for gasoline across the nation and higher crude oil prices.

Lundberg says the increase is part of a trend that has seen the price spike nearly a quarter over four weeks.

In the Lower 48 states, the highest average price of regular gasoline was $2.72 per gallon in Los Angeles. The lowest was $1.66 in Newark, New Jersey.

You know the American consumer will get shafted the most.

This thread is just a dmcowen674 version of gamergate, almost.

Not much is said really, it just exists to be bumped occasionally.

Only difference is he didn't start it.

Dave should be more concerned with the price of the Twinkies he gets with his food stamps.

3-22-2016 Oil back up to $45

Look for at least a dollar jump once they have to switch to the summer blend.

You're a moron.

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil prices were down about 3 percent on Wednesday after U.S crude stockpiles soared to record highs for a sixth straight week and triple analysts' expectations, rekindling worries of a glut that could reverse the market's two-month long rally.

U.S. crude futures were down $1.31, or 3 percent, at $40.14 a barrel by 12:30 p.m. EDT"

IIRC circa 2007-8-9 the barrel price of oil was about 50% higher than today and gas prices were hovering in the $2/ gallon range.

The only fundamental change between sub $30/bbl oil and $40/bbl oil is that oil storage was less full when oil was $27/bbl and Iran was still ramping production. The production "freezes" are at levels that already exceeded consumption and not everyone is on board because they have bills to pay.

Your $2.50 must be everyone else's $1.99.

Let me know when it's about to be $8.00 for you, so I can be prepared to pay $3.00.

Thanks in advance.

Here comes the summer blend excuse:

4-6-2016
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/get-ready-to-pay-more-for-gas-by-memorial-day-193029505.html

Get ready to pay more for gas by Memorial Day

Gas prices are on the rise. During March, gas prices increased for 21 consecutive days, starting at $1.86 a gallon and reaching $2.04 by March 28. And it doesn’t look like the climb will stop there; AAA predicts that the average price of gas could rise by 25 cents a gallon by Memorial Day.

With all of the recent headlines about the oversupply of oil in the global market, why are gas prices going up?

One reason consumers are expected to pay more at the pump is because many refineries have until June 1 to start selling a special summer-blend gasoline. This gas is mandated by the EPA and is less likely to contribute to air pollution during warmer temperatures. In response, refineries are expected to lower their supply of regular gas at a time when more drivers hit the road to enjoy the warmer weather. The result is higher prices.
