I know and I understand other Politicians have gotten into deep shit for similar stuff.
Just personal opinion, I don’t like the feel of this
The Mueller probe cast a very wide net, and it will be ironic if he never uncovers evidence of Russian collusion or obstruction (I happen to believe he will on obstruction). However, white collar criminals have gotten away with so much in this country, I really can’t feel outrage that a few got ensnared in the probe for crimes unrelated to it.

You have to wonder how many people like Manafort are running around Washington.

A blanket pardon for Cohen would be suicide. Cohen would still rat his heart out to escape state charges, anyway.

In other news, "good 'ol Lanny" said on Morning Edition today that his client (this Michael Cohen fella) will refuse any pardon offered by Donald Trump, because he believes that Trump is "a threat to this country."

Man, isn't it just great when all the rat fuckers start fucking each other?

it just gets better and better (worse and worse). will be curious to see how long trump can hold off exploding and incriminating himself. something along the lines of "i told michael we're just getting a little help from the russians. we paid them. perfectly legal!"

As if the possibility of a Trump pardon bears any connection to reality. The notion that Trump would pardon the guy who just ratted him out is absurd. Cohen's lawyer is just trying to polish up the image.

We've now had at least 2 people close to Trump stating he knew about the email hacking and coordinated with the Russians: cohen and omarosa. This is on top of the mountain of evidence that already points to that direction. I mean it's insane that people keep saying "no collusion" when cohen (the guy who went on TV and said there was no collusion) is now saying "actually we lied about that too... and about a ton of other stuff".

It's been insane to say 'no collusion' since his son publicly revealed that he, Trump's son in law, and Trump's campaign chairman conspired to meet with agents of the Russian government for the express purpose of the Russian government helping his candidacy.

For whatever reason this has not stopped them.

Yep, Cohen knows he's not getting a pardon for "breaking" unlike the much-admired-by-Trump Manafort. That was an interesting turn of phrase eh?

I liked Warren's interview where she navigated some politically troublesome questions about impeachment. Unlike some of her peers, she wasn't obsequious and fawning about reconciliation but stated what needed to be done clearly. That is to protect Mueller and get all the facts in then determine what course of action to take. Not mealy-mouthed but on point and insisting on accountability in whatever the findings demand. That and her anti-corruption bill elevated her up a couple notches in my estimation.

I disagree to some extent. I think if Cohen were still dropping hints he'd be open to keeping his mouth shut a pardon could be dangled in front of him.

I'm getting a tingling sensation

On the other hand Chuck Schumer needs to just continue with the business of doing nothing of importance. The "Trump had better not pardon anyone" threat is more toothless than a lump of cheese. He can't do anything and it only makes the Dem leadership look impotent and foolish. I think he operates in a political reality that died with Ron R.

Warren runs and she has my unqualified support.

McConnell knew that a bunch of GOP candidates were riding Trump's coattails & didn't give a damn if Putin were helping them or not.
This downplays or ignores the stonewalling and other bullshit that Mitch was pulling to stymie the efforts to stop Russian interference.

Dang, I wonder what's going on with morale today in the alt-right trenches along the front-lines of the Second Civil War these days. I'm concerned about their morale.

*sigh* I'm in agreement with you about Schumer. Impotence is always difficult to behold.
I'm loving Ted Lieu (though he can't run) and for some reason I still love Adam Schiff though I'm beginning to think he suffers sporadic bouts of impotence. Kamala is awesome! Booker is well liked but I don't care for him... Any way, Warren is my favorite after Ted Lieu.

Warren will be 72 when she runs. We need someone younger. I had the same concern over both Trump and Clinton.

She looks to be a healthy, vibrant, well aged 72. I think that matters. She is full of piss and vinegar and fire. I think she's up to it.

I think you would have a hard time finding a better candidate at this moment. Who is the alternative, Avenatti?

A significant failure of Democrats is that they have not moved aside for the benefit of the nation when it came time. Keeping stability and the status quo is a virtual mandate for any party. Unfortunately, it goes too far and the best choice is Warren in spite of her age. That may change but the Dems are currently about as rudderless as a major party can be.

There aren't any good alternatives yet. The younger ones like Booker and Harris aren't great choices IMO. I'm waiting to see who arises over the next year. I do prefer a younger candidate if a good one emerges. But age is obviously not the sole factor.

SHS continuing to cover and blow smoke today. No surprises there, but it was refreshing to see a lot of reporters asking harder questions and pressing.

I think Mark Warner would make a great centrist candidate, someone who's good on law and order and would restore faith in our intelligence apparatus, while taking a hard line on foreign meddling in our elections. He's got a track record of bipartisanship with a focus on getting things done. I guess he'd be 65 in 2020...not too old assuming he stays in decent health.

Unfortunately, Republicans will think he's too "Deep State", and Democrats will say he isn't progressive enough or he's in bed with business and military interests, so he probably doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell getting out of the primary.
