There aren't any good alternatives yet. The younger ones like Booker and Harris aren't great choices IMO. I'm waiting to see who arises over the next year. I do prefer a younger candidate if a good one emerges. But age is obviously not the sole factor.
Not a sole factor, but big factor. IMO, anyone over 65 isn't young enough to shoulder the job. Preferable is 10 years younger than that, max.
She looks to be a healthy, vibrant, well aged 72. I think that matters. She is full of piss and vinegar and fire. I think she's up to it.
It's conceivable even if she's post-menopausal. So yeah, hope so. There are exceptions.
Warren runs and she has my unqualified support.
Well, she'll be almost exactly the same age as the incumbent asshat.

Dang, I wonder what's going on with morale today in the alt-right trenches along the front-lines of the Second Civil War these days. I'm concerned about their morale.

I doubt it will result in mass suicide. They'd been working their way up to getting stupid mad for a long time & Trump played it masterfully. It's not the kind of craziness most people can sustain for long, however.

I think Mark Warner would make a great centrist candidate, someone who's good on law and order and would restore faith in our intelligence apparatus, while taking a hard line on foreign meddling in our elections. He's got a track record of bipartisanship with a focus on getting things done. I guess he'd be 65 in 2020...not too old assuming he stays in decent health.

Unfortunately, Republicans will think he's too "Deep State", and Democrats will say he isn't progressive enough or he's in bed with business and military interests, so he probably doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell getting out of the primary.

You're right in that last thought. His voting record is going to be too conservative for the dem electorate come 2020. If you look at who is currently in consideration, they're all from the progressive wing of the party.

How about this one?

The silence today from the right is deafening. They must be completely lost since the talking points haven't been delivered yet.

I think you would have a hard time finding a better candidate at this moment. Who is the alternative, Avenatti?

A significant failure of Democrats is that they have not moved aside for the benefit of the nation when it came time. Keeping stability and the status quo is a virtual mandate for any party. Unfortunately, it goes too far and the best choice is Warren in spite of her age. That may change but the Dems are currently about as rudderless as a major party can be.
And the Republicans are all rudder with no brain to navigate.

The state of things is discouraging.

I notice a major fall off in tweets from the craziness of the MacGahn (sp) tweets. Literally, nothing. Until the bad lawyer for hire tweet.

Not sure what that has to do with anything? Women function fine while menopausal. Just as well as any man going through a mid-life crisis any way... Strike that, better than because women don't typically blow-up their lives over menopause.

Well, she'll be almost exactly the same age as the incumbent asshat.

And far more healthy and decent without the corruption and treason.

Right but those fu*kers are fantasizing about mass murder.

Dems don't much care about who we'll run in 2020 right now. We care about winning in November. Think of it as a gathering storm.

Don't get too concerned about us, OK?

I'm concerned about the remotest possibility that Trump may yet survive or another populist clone do well. If you aren't concerned about your party and the implications that might lead to, then someone should.

Precisely who is the voice of the Democrats right now? I mean the ones who connect with more than the faithful? Pelosi? Feinstein? Schumer? Not at all. Warren has the potential, but in any case I would think the Dems should adopt a position of foresight and develop the ability to multi-task. Midterms and 2020 are inexorably linked and not far apart timewise.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm discouraged with Dem leadership and lack of force.
