Do it Zin! Not sure I'd vote for you but I would love entertaining the thought!
I'm pretty sure that my mom would vote for me, at least.

Like water from the toilet?
I'm concerned about the remotest possibility that Trump may yet survive or another populist clone do well. If you aren't concerned about your party and the implications that might lead to, then someone should.
Precisely who is the voice of the Democrats right now? I mean the ones who connect with more than the faithful? Pelosi? Feinstein? Schumer? Not at all. Warren has the potential, but in any case I would think the Dems should adopt a position of foresight and develop the ability to multi-task. Midterms and 2020 are inexorably linked and not far apart timewise.

How about Harris? She seems competent and intelligent. As a bonus she'd trigger the racist rightie snowflakes.
The time has come for someone truly progressive.
See post 3584.Anyone else notice our right leaning AT guys have been lying low today
I've got reservations about Harris, but if she is the nominee, I will hope that they fully embrace the "bitch" label and just own it and destroy whoever stands against her. She's got the personality of a hatchet. Sharp, cold and a bit intimidating. Women are screwed when it comes to being compared to men. If they are too strong of a personality they are a bitch. If they try to soften up then they are too weak. They are held to an entirely different and discriminating standard than men are. If we thought Hillary was a polarizing candidate, at least the angry white male voter can't complain about her not being white.
Sad that this is where we are, but this is where we are.
Aww! That's sweet. Though you don't seem entirely convinced.I'm pretty sure that my mom would vote for me, at least.
Healthcare. Education. No more privatization of prisons. Hella regulations on things certain industries are knowingly killing us with. Gun reform (meaning 2A reform!). Tax reform that benefits the people not the 1%. I'm all for socking it to the 1%. There is zero need for even one person to be a multi-billionaire ever under any circumstance. It's absurd! On and on and on!I normally vote for the more establishment candidate, but in this case I agree. My biggest reason is that we've let healthcare get so expensive in this country that we pretty much need single payer tomorrow. I'm not on board for an incremental approach any more.
If Trump isn't the candidate in 2020, I wonder how that changes the algebra of things, too.
I was presupposing impeachment and him being removed from office... but sacto has a point, that he might take his ball and go home when faced with the prospect of such a powerful loss likely in 2020.History says that when an incumbent is challenged by their own party, they both lose.

My issue with billionaires is I tried one day to imagine how hard someone must work to earn a billion dollars. A single human being isn't capable of working that hard in 10 life times. Yes I have some unnamed, unsourced concept of what a person's efforts are worth but it's weighed against need.I definitely want to raise taxes on the wealthy, but I think pretty much any dem will do that. I don't have an issue with there being billionaires. I just think they should give back more than they do. Most are making their money off the backs of working people. Giving money to the poor and middle class stimulates demand for their goods and services anyway. If the ultra rich aren't careful, and they continue to starve out everyone else, pretty soon there won't be anyone to buy their stuff.
I also want to see political reform. That's something I do like about Warren.
Well, she'll be almost exactly the same age as the incumbent asshat.Warren runs and she has my unqualified support.
Yeah, I have nothing against her being post menopausal, absolutely nothing. Maybe shouldn't have said that, but it did cross my mind, so I said it. It would have nothing to do with how I vote and if she's running against that repugnant narcissistic misogynist in the White House, I'll vote for her for sure. I've never been so repulsed by a president, it's no contest. It boggles my mind that this has happened. I used to have a lot of faith in America. I can't say that anymore. Not sure what that has to do with anything? Women function fine while menopausal. Just as well as any man going through a mid-life crisis any way... Strike that, better than because women don't typically blow-up their lives over menopause.
And far more healthy and decent without the corruption and treason.
Yep, America is pathetic. Not universally, but given the political situation right now, on balance I'm afraid so.She's got the personality of a hatchet. Sharp, cold and a bit intimidating. Exactly why I am unashamed when those fu*ks talk about dem/liberal tears. I AM heartbroken, ashamed, embarrassed and disgusted by Trump's base and by his administration and Trump. Never quite understood the insult being thrown around there.Well, she'll be almost exactly the same age as the incumbent asshat.

I went through mine between 21 and 28 years old. I had mood swings but my husband was the one to suffer those. I was a cook/chef during some of those years. I managed to keep every one alive.Yeah, I have nothing against her being post menopausal, absolutely nothing. Maybe shouldn't have said that, but it did cross my mind, so I said it. It still boggles my mind how the right made "liberal" a bad word. I have always disparaged the term "conservative"!Exactly why I am unashamed when those fu*ks talk about dem/liberal tears. How about regressive? It's one of my favorite ways to describe them.It still boggles my mind how the right made "liberal" a bad word. I have always disparaged the term "conservative"!
a bipartisan bill passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Obama in December 2012, intending to punish Russian officials responsible for the death of Russian tax accountant Sergei Magnitsky in a Moscow prison in 2009.
Since 2016 the bill, which applies globally, authorizes government to sanction human rights offenders, freeze their assets, and ban them from entering the U.S..
