Collusion requires two parties.The collusion is a plan by the Russians without Trump fully understanding what he is into.
One of the very common tactic used by mafia to gain access to 'business' for money laundering purpose is to identify victims with legitimate business who will need money or loan because they are in financial difficulties or simply greedy. With or without them knowing it. Eventually, it's too late to go back and become fully controlled by the 'partners'.
Trump would be too inept for anyone with a brain to collude with for such a huge case. We are living history in the making. Trump is a con man projected to a situation where he will pay for his incompetency which he succeeded to elude all his life.

I can only speak for myself. Yes, I want something to stick as is often the case when people see someone who is so obviously corrupt but wealthy enough and/or influential enough to avoid consequences. This is not a case of an innocent man being unfairly persecuted. He is filth and a tragedy for the country. I'd love for him to be removed for that alone. But sadly we must wait to see what sticks. Putin won no matter what. At best, he has a puppet at the dream position, sanctions lifted. At worst, US is divided like never before even after Trump is gone and Putin is a hero among his supporters for clowning the US. Absolute political gain.
