I think they show up as random side content. You don't actually see it.

Oh I see well I'm only 17% througg the game so I'm sure I'll find them at some point. I'm really enjoying collecting all the shards. I think I have about 11 upgrades ready so far. I chose the good side but can you still upgrade the evil powers too?

Yup I made sure to collect all the shards in both previous games. You'll definitely need them.

Also Toys R Us is doing some kind of huge sale on random games so picked up:

All $12 each brand new factory sealed.

Wii U I tend to stick exclusives only but those were the only games that caught my eye at that price as they are both "exclusive Wii U editions" so they are mine now.

Then ended the day with catching Wal-Mart stocking the shelves with cases upon cases of .22LR. Today was a gold mine.

When I did titanfall, it took almost 12 hours and that game was only 16 gigs. I can't wait until I move since the internet in our new town starts at 50 megs.

Ground Zeroes is about 9.3GB.

I really like it. The city is well done with some noticeable local landmarks. The animation is decent, but not spectacular as I think other games are on par with it. The particle effects are really good and the lighting is one of the best I've yet seen in a game on the new consoles. The reflections and such look fantastic.

The combat is fast and seems fluid. The powers are neat and have enough variation to keep me interested in the next one.

I'm really enjoying it so far. I haven't played much of the main story yet as I've focused on riding districts of D.U.P control. I cleaned out Georgetown already.

Being a Seattle resident, I'm loving the environment. Seeing the signage for Sub Pop records in Georgetown and Dicks drive-in in Queen Anne is cool.

Is it just me or is this game lacking in the bass department? The sound effects have nothing. I have a decent home theater and there is no impact from anything. I have already changed the sound setting to home theater.

I don't have a surround sound and yea I've noticed the bass is low. Haven't looked into the settings much. The bass on its own in bf4 is very loud though.

The particle and smoke dash animations look soooooo good... I picked up Infamous 2 used, but I didn't really like how restrictive and slow the city traversal played out. Sticking to wires and climbing is no fun! But second son delivers in Spades in that department. I like that I really don't have to touch the ground that much, which is how it should be for a dude with super powers.

edit: I wish 30fps V-sync was an option in this game. Not really a fan of the variable frame rate.

I really enjoyed the first two and I'm enjoying this one. It's basically more of the same but more refined which is fine with me. I'm having a blast. I was gonna play Metal Gear Ground Zeroes first but I plopped this in and I'm glad I did.

I always like playing evil first then go again playing good. Just like I did in KOTOR.

Yea it's easier to play evil first since you don't have to care about blasting away at anyone and hitting civilians.

It is fine to me. Have you used any of the slam powers yet? Those thump at the right moments. Also when a car playing hip-hop comes by the sub kicks in very noticeably.

Actually playing evil is in fact harder in my view due to the fact that your powers revolve around direct frontal attacks and not deception and hit and run. Further if you want to do any of the karmic streak abilities as evil you have to really keep up the damage to civilians and such. With the good side getting a karmic streak is a lot easier and quicker. They reward you for knockouts more than they reward you for kills which makes it easier to get a streak going. Luckily once you get a karmic streak it locks the move in the ready position so you can use it whenever you need it. You don't have to use it immediately.

I think the graffiti art is actually pretty cool. I don't like having to hold the controller sideways like that but I like the art style that it comes out to. Pretty cool.

First time I did what I was like wtf is that noise and it was me shaking the controller. The sound comes out the controller speaker hehe.

The cars have bass just nothing else really. Its like they reduced the bass in the sound of the powers. Not a very aggressive score at all. Other than the bass issue the sound design is great though. It remains me of the Sucker Punch blu-ray. Its like the went -8 db on the bass with respect to everything else.

Ugh I just played like 4 hours straight. Only reason why I turned it off was because the controller's battery ran out. Very fun game.
