Yes, I'm in WA, and I got my notification on May 25.

Oh, I've been playing with it for a bit now. Nomad manager is interesting, it truncates the filenames when it copies them, and I'm not sure I like that. But otherwise the interface is TIGHT!

Sound quality is good, the FM tuner is pretty good, though reception can be a bit limited. (My office has a fair amount of shielding.) The headphones are not adjustable, and the cord is SHORT. It's obviously meant to be plugged into ONLY the Nomad Remote. (Which is AWESOME!)

Also, it appears that you should be able to just copy files right onto the card if you already have a SmartMedia reader. They just go into the root. However, I haven't tested that ... yet.

I'm using a 64MB card and crammed 7 songs into about 41MB, and these were at at least 128kbps or MORE. Not bad. Although, it's time to be more judicious with my compression. I could probably get at least 24 songs onto this thing.

Oh, be sure to get the latest firmware. There's an update on http://www.nomadworld.com.

So overall? I'm very impressed. This thing is going to get a MAJOR workout. MF'N awesome deal for $50.

After I realized that alot of albums are over 32mgs and that I wasnt interested in upgrading the thing I decided I would just auction it off once it came.... is everything all in one box... or does the player come in one and then the memory in another and so on?

BTW Pretec sells a SmartMedia to CF adapter, might be interesting for those of you who already have a CF card reader. I am gonna get one so that I can copy MP3s from CF to SmartMedia on my HandheldPC. I have a bunch of CF cards and don't want to spend more money on Smartmedia cards.

Everything is all in one box. This is the 32MB version of the Nomad II ... period. This wasn't them tossing a bunch of cheap crap in the "package," it's all OEM equipment, so to speak.

As for the "Not for Resale" label ... it's HUGE, and covers where you open the box. It's clearly readable from both the top of the box and the front. If you plan on auctioning it off, I'd be sure to tell your prospective buyers, or they might object.

Oh, and sincere apologies to UltraWide for calling him a liar. Props to him for being the first to post about getting it, too. You rock.
