Where's my NOMAD! Bastard UPS is notoriously slow in my area. Just 2 days ago I waited all day for the UPS to finally deliver my 2 HD's @ 7PM. I waited at home all day casue I know they had to be signed for. DELIVER MY NOMAD NOWFF!
No signature required for the Nomad II. I received mine just now, the UPS guy just left it in front of my back door with a Netmarket free travel case I'm going to call Netmarket to cancel my membership now.
no sig? odd. Well, then again, it could just be your UPS guy. Ah well, i confirmed the 24th (heh, i think i was like the 5th person to order).. july 6th.. wait, I already said this.. heh, i'm just so damn happy
UPS really sucks, either shipment goes to the wrong place, or the package looks like its been squashed by an elephant. Very unprofessional shipping people too. I prefer fed ex, at least they on time and very nice =) Anyways mine should arrive via ups tomorrow friday. Hopefully it wont be battered up or sent to mars or something =P
just to let you guys know, if you haven't gotten yours yet, most likely it'll be delayed for another while. i sent them an email concerning their supplies and they are out. still waiting for more shipments to fulfill remaining orders. sadly i'm one of the ones who will have to wait. sucks big time. i just hope its not too long because i really fear emusic might go under before i get the nomad.
Did they give any indication as to how long the second group of people will have to wait?
Mine's coming in tomorrow, but my roommate and my girlfriend are in the second batch, I guess... oh well..
I posted a few threads back on this, they stated I confirmed my address on 5/26/00, so apparently since I haven't gotten an email Confirmation yet that I too am in the second batch. I figure they'll be able to get plenty of 32MBers because the OEM Computer Company I work for got a deal with Creative we'll be selling them instead of the Rio's fairly soon and all of them are 32MBers. I don't think there is a shortage, but getting bumped up to 64mb because of the delay would be VERY sweet
I confirmed my order on the 25th of may as well but have not received any notice. Hopefully it's shipped, and they're just late with the email, like some folks. Otherwise... wait some more.
i highly doubt it unless they stop making the 32meg version within the time span that we have to wait. the CS at emusic said specifically there was an "unexpected shortage in manufacturing"

We recently learned of an unforeseen manufacturing delay at
Creative Labs and will be emailing you in the near future to
inform you as to when we expect your Nomad II player to ship.

Awesome, just when I was afraid I was in the second batch, I got confirm. Woohoo, nomad Thursday, Final Fantasy IX Friday, and Ys II Eternal the next week. July is shaping up to be a kick ass month.
For those of you who haven't got urs shipped yet and are hopping for a 64MB like the older RaveMP where some ppl got 64MB players, you probably won't. The Nomad II has no built in memory, the 32MB one comes with a 32MB card and the 64MB one comes w/ a 64MB card. I highly doubt that there would be a shortage of 32MB smart media cards.
