Ha ha.. the reporter explains his side of the story after the clip went viral with much criticism towards him for calling her young man. He says he didnt call her 'man' but rather 'young maam'.

As always, poor arguments from any shmuck who shares the Alex Jones mindset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGO8uQIOMh8

You asked me in another thread what conservative ideals I still hold. I didn't want to derail that thread, but since this one is a pointless circle jerk, it makes a good case study.

First, let's take the term snowflake. Snowflake specifically applies to the micro aggression periodic table of identity liberals who find a social cause or something offensive in even the most seemingly mundane of things. Those people are snowflakes. That some on the left are now trying to reverse use of the word is just lazy and cliche. The Infowars guy is many things. Going after a young adult the way he did, I would say @sshole or bully would be a better descriptor. As a conservative who believes in treating others with respect, he crossed a line. He is not however, a snowflake. Conservatives may play the victim card but not out of some foolish notion of uniqueness.

Now let's take the OP's title. Liberals are champions of gender equality, yet the OP felt it necessary to point out it was a little girl. Now why is that relevant? Is the ownage more significant because a little girl mouthed off to an adult male? What if it was a young male mouthing off to an adult male, would it be as funny? Seems a bit hypocritical.

As for parenting, both the instigator and response are the results of bad parenting, or failing education, or an increasingly uncivil society. Take your pick.
The bolded seems like you are finding something offensive in a seemingly mundane thing.

Do you deny that "ha, you got beat by a girl" is an insult often used where applicable, yet also assumes a gender bias.

Watching the video didn't offend me, but it did remind me of this:

If some basement-dwelling rightwing creep came up to my 11 yo daugher and called her "young man" I hope she'd tell him to fuck off.

There was a time when if a basement dwelling creep so much as looked at an 11 year old, a parent would beat the piss out of that creep. That would undoubtedly be my response.

I was commenting more on the fact that "fuck off" seems to be the default response to everything in our increasingly uncivil society, especially when you throw hyper partisanship into every mundane discussion.

Maybe there's a reason for all of that?

There is a reason for all of it. We've been talking past each other for decades, growing increasingly partisan, angry and bitter. The GOP and DNC both tap that anger in different ways to maintain or attain power. It's been an active volcano just waiting to blow its top.

Trump is the first politician to tap that anger in a way that encourages the behavior in a dangerous and irresponsible way. However, just because Trump threw the first punch doesn't mean there weren't some on the left equally looking for a convenient excuse to jab back.

When I was coming up snowflake was a gay slur. Princess, nancy, homo, sissy, etc. were all interchangeable.

Still means the same thing except that I notice many of these young folks using the term are clueless to that. They are just parroting what they read at infowars, breitbart, etc.

On a side note as a mostly liberal democrat I do agree that those college kids redefine the word "snowflake" and wtf I hope the government is not supporting their brainwashing.

Are there any snowflake colleagues you won't go to bat for?

I'm puzzled why the forum software replaces a four-letter swear word with _three_ asterisks. That should be **** off. *** off is a different expression, for fuck's sake. It's misleading.
