These are pretty good rates but be sure to check around locally. Not all banks offer crappy rates. My local bank (Central Bank, in central Kentucky) offers a 3.25% money market account (I've forgotten the minimum balance...might be $2500). They also offer 1-year CDs with 2 penalty-free withdrawals per year at 3.50%. Their interest checking accounts, though, are only paying a piss-poor 0.55%.

not bad but if your going to tie up your money in a cd you might as well get an ING one and make more money.

It would take a couple of business days to transfer money into the account, and then a couple of business days to transfer it out and back into your bank account.
