Does anyone know what the input current current (amps) of this fan is? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x8DwrH/cougar-case-fan-cfd12hbb

I checked their website, but they didn't say. I need it to be below .3 amps for what I'm planning with a fan controller. I assume it is indeed below that though. I don't recall seeing a 120mm fan that needed that much juice which is why I'm assuming.

This is probably a silly question to you fan experts out there, but I am still learning about fans and I don't know what is the norm amperage for a 120mm fan like the one linked above.

anywhere from .15-.25 for a non leaf blower fan... lol...

once u get to the high rpms, like 3000rpm or higher then it can go from .25~.35.

And once u get to the 38mm server fans which i class and dub thee, leaf blower fans.... then can get .52 or more.

Want my IMO advice for fans?

Do you intend to put it on the rear exhaust of your case?
Dont spend that much..

Do you intend to put it in front of a heat sink?
Get a Gentle Typhoon: (select the 2150rpm)
https://www.coolerguys.com/collecti...-series-d1225c12b-1450-1850-2150-and-4250-rpm

Want something a bit better but a lot louder?
https://www.coolerguys.com/collecti...ial-ppc-120x-25mm-3000-rpm-pwm-fan-ip52-rated

But again, if its going to be used as intake fans or exhausts where "static" isnt important, and just movement of air is, get something cheap... or something really blingy like RGB led fans if thats your flavor.

This from a Q&A on amazon:
"Runs on 12v at .31amp, so in my head, around 3.75w"

So static pressure doesn't matter if they are simply intake or exhaust? Reason I'm asking is because the case I have has mesh on the sides where I plan on putting intakes and exhaust, so I didn't know if I needed static pressure to push and pull air through the mesh. Then again the mesh isn't that thick at all... I'm probably just overthinking all of this.

nah it wont matter much....

Static is best when you need to generate turbulence though heatsink / radiator fins.

For open air, almost any fan will do, and its mostly on CFM raiting. Meaning how much air it can move across, more so then static.
