Lots of thoughts.

GPU: That's terrible! (Sorry, but it is.) Depending on the games you play you might even want to sacrifice CPU performance to get a better GPU. For now, we can start with a 7850, $237 with shipping, and stay within your budget no matter what else happens.

MOBO: OK. You could go cheaper.

Win7: Do you need features Pro provides that Home doesn't?

SSD: Get an M4.

PSU/RAM: PSU might be OK if you insist on fully modular. I don't think it's top quality although I'm not sure. I know you don't need one that powerful. RAM's OK; you could go cheaper if you get a different PSU.

CPU: If you've got $20 to spare, bump it up to at least a 3450, assuming you still insist you'll never overclock.

Compare also to [thread=2192841]Mfenn's standard $1000 build[/thread].

 You're reusing the case and HDD, so just drop those from my build and add the Windows license. That should still be around $1000.

Thanks for the input, but I went a totally different route. After trying to find the pieces and parts in stock at local stores and not having much luck. I ended up buy a laptop, Asus G55VW. Just got it last night and have not had much time to play with it yet, but so far I am very happy. Now I just need to figure out wich of the 91 proccesses that are running that I can kill.
