I'm all about equal access, but this isn't a tranny. This is a boy who's parents are allowing him to believe he's a girl, to the point he wants to use the girls' restroom.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but how is this not child abuse?

I'd go a step further and say the parents are most likely pushing him to believe that due to their own agenda.

The harm is that it may cause confusion or concern when a girl in the bathroom sees this girls penis. Do you have kids? It is hard enough explaining the difference to them without trying to explain to a 7 year old that Timmy really feels like a girl on the inside.

He is, by far, an exception to the rule and not the norm. He has been offered multiple private bathrooms as well as the boys restroom. He has a fucking penis. If he died naked and was discovered by someone a year from now they would declare it was a boy.

He is male. Let him live in his own fantasy but quit trying to get the rules changed for you because you're special. You're not, and I don't want to try to explain why some girl has a dick to my 7 year old daughter.

Genders rolls exist because there are differences in genders. Every society has a division between genders. They will never be gone because they are different. This isn't to say that we shouldn't accept certain things (e.g. a man can be a great nurse, or a woman can be an awesome athlete) and we have made strides...but when it comes down to it, genders are different.

Why would anyone see this kid's genitals except in some sort of prank/bullying circumstance? If the parents are teaching the kid a reasonable level of self-awareness I don't think the penis is going to be a factor.

I do not have my own children, but I've been directly involved in raising several kids. I've never had issues explaining complex issues to them if they are interested in understanding.

This thread seems like a lot of panic over really nothing more than a conversation with kids to explain something that is outside the norm, but also not harmful to anyone.

It is a tricky situation, I'm not sure what I would do if I was a school administrator. I think I would talk to the parents concerned about it and try and just let things be. In grade one I doubt the little boy-girl is going to be doing anything inappropriate in the girls bathroom.

I really have to wonder if children that come out this way are a direct result of their parental influences. Maybe the parents are giving this kid a confusing message about gender and the kid just doesn't know what he is.

You are assuming there is no licensed medical professional involved in the child's life. Gender dysphoria is a clinical diagnosis. A parent has two choices if such a diagnosis is made. Force their child to be their natural born gender and create an extremely fucked up human being or allow them to live the life of the gender they identify as and have an ostrichized but less fucked up in the long run human being.
