Insanely dumb question about iPods...

Yeah you can create a playlist in Itunes and upload it to your Ipod, just as you would with Windows media player or Winamp.

You can't on a 2nd gen one when I had it. BUT I think you can do it now with the firmware update. Not 100% sure on that. I think my 3rd gen one you couldn't also until I had the firmware updated. Not 100% sure but you can on the 3rd gen ones and above with the correct firmware.

Yes you can. Just set up your playlist how you want it in itunes. Then when you sync it, it will sync the playlist exactly how you want it.

yes, on the go playlists allow you to do it.

yep. to do so, have the song/artist/playlist selected, then press the select button (the little round one in the middle) and don't let go for several seconds. once the selected item flashes, it has been added to your "On the Go" playlist. go now to playlists and go to the On The Go playlist and scroll all the way down. select save and it will be saved with the name "On The Go PLaylist 1" or something of the sort. you can later delete it or modify it in iTunes if you desire.
