Inspire 5700 or DTT3500

Pricewatch has it for ~$240, but it's at ComputersHQ.com which has a very bad resellerratings rating. Can you help me find it somewhere else? Pricewatch only lists that one store.

I am going to get the DTT3500s unless anyone has a better idea. Thanks for all of your help!

how about Creative lab's inspire 5700 5.1 speakers?


I have the monsoon 505 s and they are ok.I got them from dell for about 120. (I can't remember)

My only problem with them is that they are NOT DIGITAL.

If it was up to me I'd have a speaker setup with just a powerful center chanel and subwoofer.

Inspire 5700 has DTS decoder, unlike DTT3500. I'm also looking forward to buy a speaker. So far, my choice is Inspire 5700.

Is there anything better about the DTT3500? I read somewhere that the Inspire 5700s were supposed to replace the DTT3500s. I'll probably get the Inspire 5700 then.

whatever you do do not get the DTT3500

logictech z560's > DTT3500

you know you want 5.1 yet you dont know if there is a difference between 5.1 & 4.1

5.1 add a 5th channel (front center) that will only be used when you watch DVD's

i dont think there are any 5.1 Gaming standards yet (EAX 2 maybe) but almost all games are 4.1

all music sounds the same under 4.1 as 5.1 unless you have a DTS CD


with that aside

polk makes a nice 5.1 setup for $160

inspire 5700 are pretty good but i read the cambridge megaworks 510D ($399) blow everything out of the water including the klispch 5.1's

the midiland 5.1's are also good

on the 4.1 side

the only choices IMO would be the
logitech z 560

or the boston acoustics BA7800 (not 7500) they use the same satellites as the $999 boston unity 5.1 system and the sub is great also

they are $250
