Inspiron 6000 vs. Inspiron 9300

Which do you think is better for college? WIth the Inspiron 9300 i would be able to play video games.

I'd go with something much ligther than the 6000 or 9300 if you plan to haul it around...maybe the 600m or 700m.

i hate the 6000 and it is too heavy. If you have the money I would go for a T series.

i have a dell 5150, 5160, and 9100. i dont care what anyone says anymore...dont get a dell. spend more money and get an IBM t series. you will not regret it. they are better at basically everything.

get the 9300, its NOT THAT HEAVY, unless you have really bard gvirly arms it wont be an issue,

90% of those i went to school with who had laptops never took them out of their room, those that did carried them in a backpack, weight doesnt really matter there anyway

Dells are so poorly manufactured. Go with any other manufacturer. Every dell laptop I've ever handled felt like it was fastened together with used chewing gum.

i have a 6000 and it does what i need mostly. i have a desktop for heavy gaming (this will run WoW fine and hl2 okay). i definately wouldn't want anything bigger tho, which was the drawback to the 9300. i wish they offered the 600m with a x300.

I have a 9300 and its great for games. However, whenever I carry it around, my bag feels like its cutting into my shoulder. Its pretty heavy with the accessories as well as the extended battery. I'm more used to a 5lb Thinkpad vs. my behemoth.

Exactly. I had a HP dv1000 that was 5.5 pounds. Got it for portability, but then I realized the only times I took it anywhere were intense study sessions at the library, sometimes the girlfriend's place, and back on the plane home. That's why I'm replacing it with a i9300...I can easily carry an under 8 pound laptop and with the battery life and power ratio you get from that sucker, you can't beat it . I can use it for LANs too instead of lugging all this desktop junk.
