Installed washer issue

So had a new washer/dryer delivered from Lowes couple of days ago. They took out my old ones and installed the new ones. When both water lines/hoses were connected, the were leaking. It looked like the leak was occurring at the valve on my pipes. Never had a leak before, etc. Waited couple days, one valve stopped leaking, but the other one hasn't stopped. I had to shut it off.

It's my valve, etc that's messed up now AFTER the installation. What will Lowes do about it? My fault? Their fault? What can I look for in terms of it getting taken care of? Any ideas?

Make sure the faucet has a washer . . . nm this is going to be too hard to describe.

What kind of error code are you getting from the washer. Have you tried clearing the CMOS (Clean Machine Operating System)?

Is it leaking from the valve knob itself, or the junction of the hose to the outlet that will tell you if the valve itself is bad? As far as whose fault, probably nobodies and the valve just failed from turning it on/off.

There is a washer in the end of the hose connected to the faucet. When the water leaks it seems like its coming from the valve. I've messed with it, tightened it, connected/disconnected and its still the same.

My question is will Lowes take care of things or simply say, its not our issue because its my faucet that seems to be the problem. (which wasn't a problem until they did all the installing)

Seems like the valve knob itself.

That happens sometimes with older valves - it hasn't been touched in years, then when it's turned off, then on, it leaks. Not Lowe's fault.
It's a relatively simple thing to fix... usually, depending on how much corrosion there is on the valve. Sometimes tightening the nut that the handle part comes through is enough. Othertimes you have to replace a rubber gasket inside.

No its not lowes fault. Those valves go bad as they don;t get turned on/off so they go bad from sitting. Might be a gasket or the metal has just gone bad.

Could be a valve seat gone bad in the valve, or could just be a washer gone bad. COULD just need to have the nut tightened...

How long has it been since the water was turned off from the old washer? If the valve sits for a long time the packing under where the knob is drys out and once you turn it off and than back on it will leak. You might be able to replace the packing around the valve seat. You will need to turn off the water at the main shut off. Does the valve look something like THIS if it is something like it than you will need to unscrew the nut under the knob and replace the washer and seal inside around the stem.

Probably didn't put the rubber washer on the inside of the hose coupling before attaching to the spigot, and/or didn't use plumber's tape.

Or if it's from the valve itself, then yeah...years of sitting without changing positions can do that. Might just have to replace the valve.
