installing software on many computers

Has anyone tried using this software?

The computer lab at my school and is gonna install the same set of software on all the computers. What is the fastest and most reliable way of doing this? We?re gonna do this with about 250 computers.

Considering Norton Ghost too, but was just wondering if anyone had any previous experience.

Norton ghost is the only way to go. every friday night I reload a lab of 50 pc's from it, works like a charm

hey,

what kind of network are you on? and how long does ghost take you, on average, to finish your loading? I'm trying to compare speeds here since this is a somewhat large project and saving time would be a major factor here.

I've been reading some good reports on Image Cast 3.

with any current hardware you should be able to get between 100-200 MB/min (that's megabytes per minute) when ghosting a computer accross a network. I use one NT workstation with a 60GB 7200rpm IDE drive to store all our ghost images, I keep the computers lean and it takes 5-10 min to do a machine. If you allow users to install stuff and store their files locally it can take half an hour or more.

With Ghost, you can also "broadcast" a single image to a whole network of PC's. So you image 250 computers at a time. (I don't recommend doing 250 at a time though )

What do you recommend as the maximum number of computers that should be cloned at one time? Does Ghost or Imagecast have a limit on how many can be cloned simultaneously?
