installing windows 98

I am trying to install Windows 98 on the computer. It doesnot let me in
to install the windows. The error it gives me is that your computer already
has an operating system which cannot be upgraded by this version of
set up. You need to obtain windows 98 set up. suggestion please

sounds like you have a win98 UPGRADE disk youa re trying to install from. you need a full install disk not just the upgrade.

or you need a full install of 95 or 3.11 install that then use the upgrade disk.

Win98 is no longer supported or sold why are you trying to install it?

Try formatting the destination drive first. Or at leaswt removing/renaming win.com and win.ini
