Installing Windows XP from Gateway XP Home Disk

Here's my problem. I have a Gateway comp that I'm using right now. I will be building my own pretty soon. However, I don't want to buy XP if I can use the Gateway XP disk. Problem is, I'm afraid that the Gateway disk may install the drivers for the orginal comp that it was for, therefore creating a probelm with my new hardware. Any help? Please don't give me any "Why don't you go out and buy it like the rest of us had to do" kinda stuff. Thanks

wouldnt the gateway drivers come in a separate disk? i have a dell and hp laptop at home and no drivers are included in the os disk. they are included on a separate driver recovery cd.

I tried that, but didn't have the CDkey. That is more of a problem. XP has about every driver known to man. Drivers aren't much of a problem issue IMHO. If you have the CDkey, you maybe good to go,except you are responsible for any legal issues involving the eula.

Well I have the OS disk and then the Drivers CD so I guess I will be alright.

If it's an OEM cd key it makes no difference what media you use. You could download a warez copy, burn it to disc and use the valid cd key from the gateway PC and it will be legal.

OEM is OEM is OEM.

PS: You can't have it installed on both machines though, that would be agianst the EULA.

Yea, as soon as I get my new rig, I'm done with this one.

So where do I get this warez copy? There are many sites.
