Well, is that Target IP essentially a Duo60???

I have a Target account, didn't have a red card but I just applied online, was approved for up to $100 purchase, gave me my CC number, and have that IP in my cart now... $50.86 including tax, free delivery. Gonna get it! Looks to be pretty much the same as the Duo60 ???
As far as I can tell it's the same one I bought 2 or 3 years ago so it should be the duo60. The UPC even matches the one I have.

The Q&A also confirms it's the same.

Come on you know me better than that.

But just think of all of the delicious Kaido Meals™ you could be enjoying!

Don't make me come at you with a step-by-step unboxing productivity checklist...

LOL now I'm going to have nightmares. You either have hundreds of pages of pre-typed FAQ's or type super fast.

I worked at a transcription job in college...I type super fast. I make a lot of mistakes, but I do them FAST! Hahaha

That, and my secret superpower is making copious amounts of ordered & un-ordered lists about things I am familiar with, lol

I already figured Kaido for a very fast typist. Also, that he has a handle on data one way or another. I worked in database development/administration and nowadays I'm my only client, but very gladly so.

I received my Duo60 6qt 7 in 1 yesterday, had the door open when the Fedex guy walked up the steps with it. I unboxed it and it sits in front of my Williams Sonoma breadmaking machine. It barely fits there and the steam relief valve is just under the lip of the cabinet above, but figure if I rotate the cylindrical machine about 60 degrees the steam will clear the cabinet. So, when running, it will get rotated. Or else put it on my stove, but most times probably won't bother.

I ordered a different pressure cooker a few days before the Instant Pot, a Prestige 4L stainless steel. That I've used a couple times already, unboxed 2 days ago. Prior to these I used a ~50+ year old (maybe 70?) Aluminum pressure cooker. I'll try and post a photo or two of it here in a day or two, it's quite a sight.

You're probably pretty fast but I don't think you're as fast as my physical therapist. She's quite amazing and she does it while talking to me. She explained some history in her family is responsible for her amazing typing. Apparently it entailed accuracy as well as speed and she has both! I'm not bad, probably pushing 60WPM, haven't taken a test in a while. These forums are a help. You can tell the people who can barely type. Errors, terse. Gawd, the people who write reviews at Amazon, etc. Obviously a whole lot of people are barely literate. Uh, and semi-sane at best.

I got our duo 60 at target on BF. Haven't had time to open it up yet. I have to take the kid to the dr. this morning, but I was thinking about trying it out for dinner tonight. I'll be looking for an easy recipe to get started popping my cherry with this new toy. Weather is cold and dreary, so I was thinking either a roast or soup (most likely I'll try a roast though).

Don't forget to do a test run following the instructions first. It does have a bit of a learning curve.

This thread is filled with recipes as well as loads of YouTube videos.

Yeah, I have it out of the box, did nothing else, haven't even removed the tags, message inserts, etc. Saw you're supposed to do a test run with just water, that's the first thing I'm going to do with it. Learning curve, yeah... not as easy as my new Prestige 4L stainless steel pressure cooker. That didn't come with much documentation. I downloaded and printed the Presto 4qt 01341 stainless steel pressure cooker manual, which is beautiful, thorough and has a ton of cool looking recipes. I used one of its recipes last night - Pinto beans. Couldn't believe my eyes when it said (after soaking) the cook time was 3-6 minutes!!! I tried it at 6 minutes. Came out great. A neat thing about the Prestige cooker, can hang it up, has holes in the front handle, also in the top! Can't do that with the Presto 4qt pressure cooker.

You do have to wash it first. That includes the lid. Let everything dry well and then run your test. It is actually easier to use than it looks.

I have made some awesome baked beans in the instant pot. Making mashed potatoes is very easy, too. I just watched a recipe for Chinese pork tenderloin that looks great:

I've seen so many recipe ideas for the Instant Pot and people saying they turned out great. I suppose people's creativity and imagination along with the device's characteristics spark these things.

My host over the TG weekend said she had one, showed it to me, said she only uses it to make:

Hard boiled eggs!

6 eggs on rack
1 cup water
6 minutes high pressure
After pressure release, plunge into ice water, peel easily.
- -
I will give that a try. I stopped making hard boiled eggs because I couldn't figure out a way to consistently be able to peel them without difficulties. I suspect the 6 minutes high pressure is major overkill, though.

FWIW they make attachments so the steam would vent out at 90 degrees instead of upwards. I'm hesitant to even mention it because it could be venting straight towards you. Search Amazon for instant pot vent accessories or instant pot steam release diverter.

My secret superpower is a self-designed and programmed search engine of my stored data. I can search the data from any specific table for entries containing:

All of up to 3 character strings
Any of up to 3 character strings
Case sensitive or case insensitive, my option

The system has lots of cool convenience functionality built in, including separating tables in groups, creating new tables based on the structure of an existing table, instant table structure modification, customized instant reordering of tables. It's a very fun and powerful toy, my system! It's kind of like an extension of my mind. A friend of mine likened it to artificial intelligence, which I think is fair to say. It certainly is a great tool.
