@Kaido thank you for suggesting those cubes. I got some for Xmas, they are super (souper?) awesome. Nice stackable cubes, I use them frequently.
Awesome! I've found many uses for them. Among other things:
1. Soups
2. Stews
3. Chilis
4. Bisques
5. Brown butter cubes (I use brown butter a lot...
pasta,
cookies,
brownies, etc.)
6. Brown bananas (because I always say I'm going to make banana bread but never seem to have time for it once the bananas are ripe lol...this lets me make cubes I can just defrost as needed & are already ripened!)
I just got their new mini-cubes:
Freeze and store tomato paste, pesto, baby food, sofrito and other foods in 2 tablespoon / 1 ounce portions. Remove, reheat, and use the exact amount you need. Freeze up to ten 2 Tablespoon portions per tray. Pop on the snug-fitting lid to keep out odors and stack the trays in your freezer. Walk...

I've been using these for cloning Bertolli's frozen skillet pasta meals. They have a TON of flavors...basically you just stick it in a skillet for like ten minutes & voila, dinner! Downside is they're like ten bucks each and while one bag is advertised to hold two meals, it's really just one big meal for an adult male lol:
Grab a bag of our frozen skillet meals next time you're in the freezer section! There's a ton different pasta dinners are available, including chicken carbonara, shrimp penne, and more.

The thing I've been missing for DIY is their little cubes. I've played with silicone ice cube trays, but the Souper Cube versions are much nicer because they have the metal ring around the lip, which makes it easier to pop them out, plus a lid for the freezer. So you mix your cheese, sauce, herbs, etc. into the cubes, throw in the pasta, and then cook your chicken (skillet/instapot/sous-vide), then freeze it all together in a bag, and now you have your own super-budget meal kit that you can simply pull out from the freezer & easily cook! Next step is to convert those freezer meals to the IP or APO (not sure if it'd have the same effect or not as the skillet, gonna have to try it out!). This project should keep me busy for a few months lol...I've dabbled with it over the years, but now that I have the tiny cube mold, I can really go through & start making some seriously awesome quick "dump & fry" skillet dinner bags!
