Insulators ??

I just bought a K7M white box at a computer show. I'm getting ready to install it but I noticed my included hardware does not have any insulaters to go between the standoff's attached to the back of the case!! What the hell!! Is this something I was supposed to buy or ??? I do need to have these don't I? Where can I get some?

The screw holes through the motherboard are all earthing points and do not need to be insulated from the case.

In fact, most motherboard manufacturers advise that these screw points make good electrical contact with the case.

So the standoff's are attached to the holes in one side of the case (which is removablw) then the screws are just put in the other side to secure it( the motherboard). No further isolation is needed?

On the one's I've assembled, all of the mounting points are part of the ground plane. You don't want to insulate them, or you will have problems later.

unless its an old 386 or 486. Then, some screws are too wide / traces too close and you get unintentional grounding. Makes for some impressive non-bootingness

My K7V has nothing between it and the case. you dont want to insulate
