Insurgency Question

Two of my friends and I just picked this up while it's on sale. Great so far but we have a mic level question. We all use Teamspeak instead of the in game Insurgency chat which looks like it is just steam voice. Before a round starts we all can hear each other perfect. As soon as we load the level and get into the game, the audio levels we all hear from each other's voices are so low they are barely audible.When we finish the round or esc out, the levels are back to normal. I have an xfi titanium and they are using onboard realtek I think. If it had a squad chat option in the game it would be better but the people that seem to use it joke/play around and distract the players trying to play.

Maybe the game volume is just really loud, which makes Teamspeak sound quiet in comparison?

And last time I checked, I'm pretty sure Insurgency has built-in squad chat. In fact I think it's the default voice setting on most servers.

Windows may be reducing it volume as that is enabled by default. So to check right click the speaker icon in windows in the bottom right and then click playback options, then look for the tab called communications and set to do nothing if not done so already

Namx01, I suck so hard at that game. A buddy gifted it to a couple of us and he was the only one who could stay alive at all.

Seems as though I can shoot several times into an enemy's chest cavity but most other enemies one-shot the rest of us. I tried pretty hard to like that game, but my level of suck drove me crazy.

You like it, though? Is there some sort of trick to this? lol? Well, obviously, L2Pn00b is the best advice to me, but What's the deal? What am I doing wrong How are people able to get so many head shots so fast and many of them on their first shot?

Or what's worse, from across the map. I'm crawling along or crouching behind cover and POP off goes my face. I just don't get it.

OP, you guys/ ladies are probably just better off using the in-game VOIP feature.

It's pretty neat in that it allows for 3D positioning (when in close proximity to others), and reverts to radio style when further away.

Volume of sounds is decreased automatically during chat. Give it a shot!


ThinClient: You really need to watch all angles (I mean, ALL) when approaching and traversing a room/ area. Check doorways and windows; the moment you see so much as a PIXEL move, start bringing your iron sights (etc) up in that general direction.

More often than not, people are standing/ laying still while covering areas. This makes it easy for them to spot movement, and hard for you to see them. Think about this while you move about, and have fun.

Move very slowly. Keep your head down. Check EVERY corner. Learn the maps; get a feel for them.

That's it, really. Those things, combined with good skill for FPS games in general (obviously), should lead you to success. Insurgency is a thinking man's shooter. Very slow and methodical. Keep that in mind.

And all of the weapons are very powerful. Damage is realistic. A well-placed shot will put anyone down almost immediately. Work on your aim a bit. It's a very rewarding experience once you put some time into it.

I think you nailed it. I will apply the change and try later. I think it's like an 80% reduction.

Steep curve after BF4 .I miss the health kits lol. Gotta move real slowly.
