I have an old 400mhz PII comptuer that has been giving me trouble. I tried reinstalling Windows, but it kept getting random corruption errors. I eventually got it installed and it ran fine. I rebotted and it got some really weird errors but still ran. I copied over a RAR file, and every time I tested it, it got a new CRC32 so I am assuming there is corruption happening somewhere. I took out the HD and put it in my good computer and its fine. I tried swapping IDE cables but it still is giving me trouble.
What could this stem from? Just a bad IDE controller on the motherboard? Or could my RAM be screwed up too? I remember I saw a RAM tester once but don't remember what it was called now.
