it seems all stop n shop and all giant supermarkets do this until this thur..

I have purchased six 50 dollars gift cards and have 60 dollars in stop n shop money to spend.

this is quite a combo 2 store deal. of course if you are not near giant or stop n shop the amazon deal stands on its own!

SF-2281. Exactly the same hardware components as 520 (down to the synchronous NAND chips)--Intel uses firmware to keep its performance just below the 520's; and 3-yr warranty instead of 5 yrs. BTW, if you look through Amazon's vendors list, there are others that sell the drive for $10-20 less, but should still qualify as "sold thru Amazon."

no this is a risk. only the amazon one states eligible for rebate. losing a 70 dollar rebate is not worth risking. I can get this ssd at under 85 bucks.

here is how;

Buying four 50 dollar amazon gift cards with my chase card from stop n shop supermarket gets me 40 bucks to spend at the supermarket. So far The supermarket is letting customers spin over and over again. So I just bring the card out with a few groceries to the car. Then I walk back in.

So 200 - 40 is 160. Then the chase card gives me 5% that is 10 dollars off the 200. so the 160 is 150. Now add 4 dollars and buy it with the amazon cards from amazon. I spent 154 for the drive. I put in the 70 dollar rebate I spend 84 dollars for a 180gb ssd with a 3 year warranty.

I have no need to hustle 10 or 15 less by using an off amazon vendor.

not when I can get this drive for under 85 dollars legit. I get it if don't have giant or stop n shop supermarkets that paying 180 from an amazon side seller is tempting. Hell if I did that and it worked I could end up paying 64 dollars for this drive

but here is the lowest seller link and it reads not rebate eligible

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

this link is not correct ^

try this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

this one works and says no rebate.

the anandtech redirect kills the link off. but if you look around you can find it once you go to the amazon link.

the rebate form states "valid on purchases made AT Amazon...," not "sold/shipped from Amazon."

I agree you could be correct and if you are not getting the discounted gift cards you could take a shot at saving 20 more dollars. Some of the low cost sellers state no rebates some do not.

My guess is they did the rebate on the item and are telling you the truth. It is possible that the ones that are selling for 180 or so scanned the bar code to get the rebate. So when you try to use the intact upc intel will reject it as it was up scanned already.

IT is a calculated risk that the rebate will be allowed for me I am not taking it. To each his own.. I purchased 2 of these a month ago and I scanned my UPC's to get a 60 dollar rebate. If you look at those ssd's you would think you could get a rebate while in fact you can't.

It's down to under $130 AR now. I had enough points for $15 in Amazon gift cards from Bing Rewards which got it down to $115 AR. I think $0.64/GB is pretty good for an Intel SSD.
