Hmm. The Indian guy at Intel tried to convince me that motherboards and BIOSes can fail, and I laughed at him. I don't have much else to do tonight, so maybe I'll give the new Beta BIOS a whirl anyway.

I still haven't heard of anyone staying over 1.29 volts vcore on these, though.

Mine runs @ 1.296 vcore 100% loaded 24/7, 60-68c temps.

Thats over 1.29

foxery, what was your load vcore on the Q9300?

I ask b/c my vcore on the x3350 is 1.20 and on the Q9450 is 1.225, so 1.35 @ load doesn't seem like a crazy vcore to me. 1.29 seems very low in fact for extreme overclocking.

Iiiinteresting. I flashed to a Beta BIOS version, turned C1E/EIST back off, and just ran 24 hours just fine at 3.0GHz, only 1.21V BIOS / 1.16ish in CPUz under load. (OCCT an hour, then Folding@Home for the rest!)

Now testing 3.2GHz, and I haven't even increased any CPU or mobo voltages whatsoever. I changed too many things at once to know which one was the answer, but I can live with some mystery if I wind up saving $300 And here I thought I was posting solely to serve as a warning to others... hmm...

I have a x3320 and it says 1.25 max as well. I am running the (q9300 equiv.) x3320 @ 3.00GHz 1600fsb with 1.15V and 1.31 NB Voltage. Everything else normal volts or open timings etc for stability right now.

Mine is back to happily Folding@Home. No further stability issues at all, with 4 days uptime under continuous 100% load. (I'll edit the thread title)

Full specs:
FSB Speed is 424 MHz, x7.5 = 3180 MHz

Abit IP35-Pro (Intel P35 chipset)
BIOS version 17beta4
BIOS Vcore 1.29v (~1.23 under load in WinXP)
Northbridge: Stock
CPU VTT: Stock
GTL Ref: 65%, versus default of 67% - would not run at 67.
C1E/EIST are disabled.

I'm resisting the temptation to crank it up again. I just want it stable!
