Well, they're 2 drastically different parts. Do you need a drive with enterprise roots and incredible endurance and top notch performance consistency? Do you need a cheap consumer drive?

I don't think that was his point.

His point was, you could get Crucial drive that's proven to be more reliable and it's roughly the same cost per gigabyte as this "shell shocker"

EDIT: I think the jury is still up on which is the more reliable drive. I retract my statement.

Thank you. I bought one. My third Intel SSD. $109 is probably the "normal" sales price going forward for this, so I might as well buy one now. And thank you Crucial. (And thank you OCZ for lowering prices about 2 years ago.)

If I hadn't just bought two Intel 710 (SATA2 enterprise drives) from NeweggFlash last week, I would have been all over this 730 deal. IMHO, Intel's own SATA6G controller (in the 730) rocks, and Intel's warranty is excellent. I would MUCH rather have an Intel drive (with their own controller, not SandForce) over any Crucial drive. Just saying.
