Which is an overall faster drive?

With RAPID enabled my 840 Evo 120gb is doing 3627MB/s Sequential Read and 3327MB/s Sequential Write, and 108131 Random Read IOPS and 64429 Random Write IOPS. How would the Intel 750 400GB drive compare?

How does Samsung's RAPID compare to Intel Rapid Storage Technology? Or is there a difference?

No it isn't. You're using some kind of RAM disk (Samsung RAPID would be my guess) so you're not even measuring the drive.

Then how does it act with the drive? Yes I corrected my op with that info.

Is there a free, and easy way to create a RAM disk without the use of the Samsung RAPID?

Samsung RAPID is a software based RAM caching solution which comes part of the SSD Magician software. It uses RAM to boost the performance of both reads and writes which is why your benchmark numbers are so high. This is not a true representation of the performance of the 840 EVO.

The 750 is a PCI Express NVMe drive which will have much greater performance than the now a couple of years old SATA 840 EVO.

You should probably do some reading on the subject before spending all that money on a 750 drive as the general consensus is that if you have to ask, your workload likely won't show the benefit of a PCI Express NVMe SSD vs a modern SATA AHCI SSD. Personally I think your money would be better spent on a higher capacity SATA SSD.

Would the Intel 750 have similar performance to that of a RAM disk? I am just blown away at how fast/responsive my entire system is now. My gaming rig has 16Gb 2x8 sticks in a triple channel setup. Ram Caching is the same thing is a Ram disk, right?

No. A pure RAM disk is faster. I have used RAPID before and decided it didn't really improve my system speed so I have not used it now for a while. If you are happy then I would just leave it.

To boot from the 750 you will need a motherboard which supports UEFI booting and I also read reports of the 750 having a very long boot up time, although there was a firmware update to fix/reduce this.

Yeah I don't think my old EVGA X58 will support it, sadly.

I don't think you understand a "pure RAM disk". It's a virtual disk, made of RAM. Meaning once you shut down, all the data is lost. So it's not suitable to install an operating system on. The best you can do is some kind of RAM caching solution although many think these are snake oil. Samsung offer a free one called RAPID which you are already using and as you like it, just stick with it.
