Just a quick question for you guys. As I see it Intel is on the brink of finally beating AMD w/ Conroe and along w/ their success in laptops it seems to be a safe bet. Also, being at its 52 week low, seems good to me. No, yes?

everyone already knows that intel has a good new product coming out, so you can't make any gains trading on that info.

personally, I think if you're in it for the long term, they're a great buy right now. If they're whole platform idea takes off and their flash becomes profitable, then it worth the gamble.

Yes it's still a good time to buy, anything under $20 is a good buy. Intel is heading to $30 by year end.

Is that why Apple stock jumped when the new Intel macs came out, despite the fact they had been announced quite a while earlier?
Stock jump on 9th January
Shipping started 10th January

I'm not saying Intel WILL follow a similar pattern, but quite often tech stocks move after announcements, and then again it seems after the actual official release.

I bought some a few days ago at 18.80... it already had been a good buy for me... yeah it should be able to go higher if the release is well executed, but it will be a year before you see it.

no, what apple released was new concrete information. it wasn't the same information that was traded on previously.

there are lots of studies that say that you can't make money by trading on old information. LOTS. why brokers pay for analysts to show old stock price charts to investors is beyond me.

why buy intel, buy into ethanol, a friend of mine made $40,000 in 4 weeks after buying into a company who's planning to build an ethanol processing plant in iowa (but hasn't built it as of yet).

check bill gates buying habits recently, he's also getting into ethanol

for the near future, oil, metals, and shorting the housing industry(builders, mortgage brokers, etc..) will be where some nice gains will be made. Long term, Intel is probably a decent buy.
