And - given the price differentials - it does of course only have to be 'not terrible' in comparison to make you wonder. Oh well

That score is good for x86 performance and an older version, not 3.2.3. but good find.

Here's a score, running version 3.2.2 (64-bit), for the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 with a 5Y10: Link

Geekbench 3.2.2 for Windows x86 (64-bit)
Single-Core Score: 2180
Multi-Core Score: 4506

The most recent versions of the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 use either a 5Y10C or a 5Y71.

Huh, wonder what's going on with the min? Throttling?

I make note of it in the video - its just on one of the scene changes it takes a little longer to load in things and records a low number on a black screen. It varies from run to run.

Both systems running 2 x 4GB DDR3-1600 and in dual channel mode.

Some more videos in case they are of interest to anyone.
3DMark Ice Storm (HD 5500 vs. HD 4400): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdKlyCy7ZwY
3DMark Cloud Gate (HD 5500 vs. HD 4400): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TdzFPztkQc
F1 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGSN4J5IyLA
Minecraft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXFy5yAdZ7M
The Sims 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojv7uh_ALrk

Gaming performance against HD 4400 seems to roughly correlate to the tests. Some gain very little, others see up to about 20% improvement.

Excited for the 28W+ Broadwells. The Dell XPS 13 looks interesting but that HD5550 is still about what, 20-30% slower than a HD4600? I'd say an HD4600 is about the minimum I could take for gaming DOTA/Diablo/MOBA/F2P games so I guess either Broadwell S/K whatever is called will be my next laptop upgrade. Was hoping it would be out by 2014, oh well.

Bit of a demonstration of how performance scales with TDP - Core M 5Y10c vs. i5-5200U in GRID Autosport. Same 2+2 die, similar GPU base and max frequency speeds, but near linear scaling in performance with TDP increase.

Gave Dota 2 a go - 1080p and the default (fairly low) detail settings runs reasonably well, but not a solid 60fps.

Is that your channel? I've been following it since the first Bay Trail videos (I've posted some in Bay Trail/Cherry Trail's thread), great work, gives a good idea of gaming with Intel IGPs. Looking forward to some Cherry Trail gaming videos in a few months.

Yep, always nice to have some positive feedback.

Always find it frustrating reading reviews of such systems where they insist on testing them at completely unrealistic resolutions and detail settings, then bemoan the lack of performance. Its surprising what you can play even on Bay Trail.

The only real disappointment has been Core M - I've not got my Transformer Book T100 at the moment (parents borrowed it for a road trip and have neglected to return it) so I can't do a direct comparison at the moment, but I'd wager in some scenarios it could outpace Broadwell-Y...

@imported_Thorburn - why would hd6000 be slower than hd5500. hd5000 was on average 15% better performing than hd4400

Not in my experience/testing. Greater number of units at lower clock speeds seems less efficient for Haswell-U in the majority of tests I've run.

Dell just released a bios update for the Venue 11 Pro 7140 (Core-M):

Enhancements
-Support "Lid Switch" option in BIOS setup.
-Improve touch function on McAfee Preboot Authentication Screen.
-Improve system performance with new thermal setting.
-Improve HDD password function.
-Improve Travel keyboard battery charging function.

Not sure what they mean by new thermal settings, but I thought it was worth posting here. If anyone gets a chance to run benches after the update, it would be interesting to see if there is any difference.
