Agreed, the shipping charge is fair. $17 total for one is a good price. The pic quality and framerate is far superior to those "free" IBM webcams from several months ago (or was it a year ago? too much beer...)

Also, this webcam works with XP out of the box.

The actual shipping for this item is about $2.60 USPS, which makes $6.95 a gouge. My big gripe, though, is that they don't give any break for buying quantities (if you buy 20, you pay 20*$6.95).

This is still a good deal for a new webcam. The lowest I've seen it at a retail store is $30.

Holy Smokes! There is no place on the planet that will ship anything to anybody for what you can do it yourself...$6.95 is about as good as it gets...

Not true - there are a ton of places that charge reasonable shipping rates. Don't get me wrong; I don't object at all to paying a premium above the actual shipping cost. What I do object to is paying 2x or 3x, with no allowance for the fact that multiples cost way less.

Lmao wtf? $2.60? Get real man. First of all, we all know most businesses do not ship through USPS. Second of all, that $2.60 is like freaking 5th class mail and you'd get it in like 2 months. To make my point, the UPS minimum for Ground is like $5 something and then you also got to factor in packing supplies etc so I think $6.95 is actually a very good shipping rate. My $0.10.

Anyone know if Intel provides WinXP or Win2k drivers/support for this webcam? In the past I've had a bad experience with Intel not providing Win2k and WinXP driver support for their webcams. Not dissing this, just saying anyone interested might want to check this out first.

It looks like these cameras do work in 2000/XP with a driver update from Intel

pokerstars, are you new to buying computer hardware thru online/mail order?
this is common practice - to sell at low price/cost, mark up the shipping charge to make the real profit.
most pricewatch vendors are doing this.
even buycom is doing this on good price items, price mistake of the day items.

Uncool. This webcam is from TigerDirect. I didn't realize until I bought it... F**K. I really need 2 webcams and this is the best deal in terms of price. Hope they don't mess with my CC...

I would say that they are pretty comparable. Dun have the pictures with me right now but I have the Logitech one. I would recommend that you get this one though. Unless they have the same pricing on both cameras...
