What? I'm confused how this relates to my post. They just can't get off that line...
The idea that the Intel was able to quickly make CFL 6 cores in a panic response to Ryzen. What? I'm confused how this relates to my post.
Are you joking or are you being serious? Why would AMD be doomed? Higher clocked AMD Pinnacle is on its way.The idea that the Intel was able to quickly make CFL 6 cores in a panic response to Ryzen.
If Intel can do that in a rush, then AMD is absolutely doomed in the CPU arena.

Ummm... it was in the article about Newegg's Coffee Lake delay. It had nothing to do with you.I said nothing about this at all. Whatevs I guess.
Yowza - guess my plan for a Black Friday build was prescient. Now I have to hope that Silicon Lottery gets a decent allocation of 8700Ks.

Well guys guess I am not buying Ryzen again after all, but going with CFL for 100% sure now. I just went ahead and purchased and paid for the very beautiful Z370 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 Motherboard. Haven't had a premium motherboard in such a long time and really really wanted this one for all the bells and whistles I need. Its been calling to me all week, so why not right? I mean you only live once and life is short. GOt it for only $249 with free 2nd day shipping so I will have it by Friday. Now if only my darn back ordered i7 8700k would show complete then we'd be in business!!
You have an 8700K?I have the same Aorus branded mobo although the cheaper Ultra version. So I assume the bios is near identical. One thing I have learned when overclocking with this board is how important load line calibration is on it, even more so than usual. Also it is weird but for some reason it is set to auto, but when you want to change it you have to type in manually what you want it to be. So set it to Turbo (case sensitive). The manual won't tell you this, I found that out by Dr Google. Made a big difference with stability, I couldn't get 5Ghz even at 1.36 with it set to auto. But now at 1.34 at 5 and haven't tested yet to see how much lower it will go.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. So what kind of cooling are you using to hit that 5Ghz and what are your temps like? I was thinking of reusing my Hyper 212 evo or am I going to need something more powerful at cooling? I have a Phanteks TC-14-PE in blue but have gut wrenching panic attacks about having something that large and that heavy mounted to such a tiny cpu.I have the same Aorus branded mobo although the cheaper Ultra version. I have seen video's on youtube where all it took was a bump of the case and or moving the case wrong and the weight of the heatsink cracked peoples cpu's. I would literally die if that happened to me.Either that or I would turn into the Incredible Hulk and throw a adult rage tantrum LOL. It wouldn't be pretty I can promise you that..
I think you are going to like that board. If it is on par with their x299 Aorus Gaming 7 it is a VERY nice piece.Well guys guess I am not buying Ryzen again after all, but going with CFL for 100% sure now. Thanks I hope so. What kind of cooling should I use then? Water? Kinda iffy using water. Had a NZXT x31 AIO i think it was called anyways, used it for 3 years then out of the blue one day it started leaking for no reason at all. Is there maybe a high end air solution that'll work that wont break the bank?I think you are going to like that board. If it is on par with their x299 Aorus Gaming 7 it is a VERY nice piece.

Honestly I have not used or looked at High-end air in 6-7 years, so I can't make any recommendations on that. I can tell you I have been very impressed how my 280mm AIO has handled my 7820x. I went in with the full expectation of having to go custom water, but it has proven to be sufficient. Thanks I hope so. What kind of cooling should I use then? Water? Kinda iffy using water. Newegg does not expect new i7 8700K stock for at least 3-5 weeks

Crono Is probably busy having fun with his new rig.
That 3000+ wont even cover backorder i think.Am I the only one that thinks "3000+" at Newegg will disappear in about 4 hours? I hope I am.
