I had time to play around with some overclocking yesterday. MCE on my MSI board is called "Enhanced Turbo". I'm currently using that. Tried for 5.0GHz, but couldn't get it stable at 1.35V with zero AVX offset using sub 32 FFT Prime95 tests. 4.7GHz on all cores is good for me. Ran 7 hours of Prime95 that passed at that speed. Maybe I'll go higher later on.
There is indeed a memory clock wall for Coffee Lake on the Z370. People loved to rag on the 7740X on X299, but I believe Intel knew what they were doing. Memory overclocking seemed limitless on that platform. I had dual channel 4133 @ 16-18-18 timings running perfectly stable on it. 8700K on Z370 won't even do 3800 @ 19-19-19. That's a bummer. Decided to try to find the lowest stable timings at 3600 instead. The memory is currently running at that speed with 14-15-15 timings. Going to run some long term stability tests.
