Sure, but that is because we start from such a low base.

How much time will have passed between Gen11 and the last performance increase in Gen whatever that Intel had released.

Intel basically skipped Gen10. So we're going from Gen9.5 to Gen11. Pretty big leap.

I think Gen 10 was suppose to be one with CannonLake. So "IF" Intel is shipping Icelake, 10nm+ ( Which we will never know since they can always change the naming ) it wouldn't so far off their last roadmap.

Hopefully they do have something to show.

Correct. It went through design & testing but never saw commercial availability. For whatever reason, Intel couldn't get it to work. That's why I expect a fairly-large jump, since all the Gen10 improvements will be in there, plus whatever they added for Gen11.

Charlie said the yield of fully defect free Cannonlake was basically 0%. I don't know if I totally believe that but probably not too far off.

Cannonlake supports LPDDR4X although only 2400 is supported. That might have been an artificial restriction however.

Xeon D sounds like an better idea than LCC/HCC since it would be a much easier sell on low core counts.

There's a name I haven't heard in awhile: Xeon D. Previous iterations have been pretty impressive for their generation.

Um, is this Hewitt Lake? Or something else?
I don’t think so, pretty sure Hewitt Lake is still 14nm, unsure if it’s Skylake SP or Cascade Lake SP based.

Wow no turbo? Interesting. Not much there to see otherwise. How much longer does Intel want to/need to push out 14nm++ Pentiums and such? It is my understanding that they prioritized much of their 14nm++ wafer allocation to larger dice for more-expensive CPUs. It also seems like they've been able to do a 2c/4t chip on 10nm for awhile now, and that they might actually get some decent ones with working iGPUs by this July or so. You would think now would be the time for them to make the transition of their Pentium lineup to 10nm.

Just put a clickable turbo button on the case and you're good to go.

Last article I had seen mentioning Hewitt Lake said it would be Cascade Lake-based, but if Intel has 10nm Xeon D ready to go, I'd be surprised if they bothered releasing it. They already have Skylake Xeon D.

Yes, that solves everything.
