are you using windows, what kinda idle/load temperatures do you have, i read on scpr that with the default vcore it was not prime stable for certain folks,

both windows xp and SuSE 10.3 with the now taken down 32bit sis driver. Temps do read around 68c while doing heavy processing, but that is still normal. As this board does not allow vcore adjustments, I'm not sure what they are referring to. Running a C2D at only 1.2ghz at 65nm is plenty cool.

XP is very snappy, while SuSE has all my usual goodies I use in Linux. However, you cannot expand videos in linux; they only play the size they came in or smaller.

im about to pull the trigger on this board (the d201gly2) for some testing purposes, you think it'll work well with Windows CE 6? (going for set top box application)

Temps for idle are 43/50, assuming that is like chipset and cpu, and at load, about 53/68. This is within Linux. I can't remember what the new programs are for temp monitoring in Windows, but it was mentioned somewhere around on anandtech a few months ago.

I cannot say for Windows CE 6. It has an old SiS chipset and SiS 900 lan.

Question for you... do you get any video glitches in Linux at higher resolutions? I have one (original, not "2") and have only played around using a Ubuntu live CD. At 1280x1024 or higher there's major display glitches. Don't know if it's the default Linux driver or if the onboard video is glitched. Though glitched, stuff works quite well still. Maybe someday I'll hook up a HD to it and install some Windows flavor. I'm also thinking about selling it and either getting a "2" or waiting for the new ones with Intel chipsets and PCI-E 1x.

You have to use the now pulled intel rpm driver, works on 32 bit only. I have them if you need it. It was made for SuSE 10.2 but works for any distro.

Oh and it does not matter if it is ver 1 or 2. If they make a $100 board I will buy it. With a recent Intel chipset it can run compiz just fine.

the $99 shuttle kpc looks interesting, obviously its not as compact as this guy, but it comes with case/psu/motherboard , add a cheap 755 processor and you are good go go, the psu is 100 watt only but should be able to drive as much as a e6600 , i might go for that

It appears now that the D201GLY2A is the same board but back to active fan cooling. Never had a problem with the fanless solution, but then again, my exhaust fan in the case I recommend helps with cooling it since it is nearby.

Is there a PSU standard for miniITX? I want to try out one of these and that's one of the questions that I have.

Most (not all) use ATX. This Intel board also requires the 4 pin +12v. Some ITX boards just have a 12v input and converts on-board for peripherals.

I'm still interested in case ideas for this board. I think I might be able to find that iStar Storm case that someone linked above but I'm curious what other ppl have come up with.

The purpose - to connect to SMBus the Multi-Chemistry Smart Battery Charger (MAX1647) of two-level uninterrupted power supply.
Mounting pad is available for unsoldered 31-pin connector of XDP-SSA Debug Port (J2BC) on the non-component side of D201GLY2. The signal circuits SCL and SDA of SMBus are present on this connector (pin 22, 24). Signal circuit INT(incomming & goes low) is necessary on the board in this case. Help please.
