Intel drivers now pass TRIM command to Windows

I've been out for a while.

So if I have ICH9R chipset set to AHCI mode, plain, not RAID, and I got a single G2 drive connected to it, will Intel 9.6.0.1014 drivers pass TRIM to the drive? Windows 7 drivers work fine right now, but I would hope Intel knows their drives best and can squeeze some extra performance with their drivers.

I loaded the last one and it seems to work fine but why two different files??

One is so small that it is probably just the driver, while the other contains the Rapid Storage management application too. I presume.

Now I'm a little more curious and concerned I loaded the wrong driver??

Both of these files say they are the latest 9.6.0.1014 drivers but by the title the stor_allOs_960.1014 may be just for the Intel brand boards?

Any thoughts.

With the newest driver 9.6 Trim is supported in raid with my Vertex LE's (sandforce)

I have confirmation that the two files are the same driver. The stor_ file is a multi language file with a readme file that makes it larger. I have a new issue though.
One thing I've noticed about this new Intel 1014 Driver is that my Safely remove hardware list that appears when I click the icon is not there (neither is the icon) and the list of all my drives (Bios set to AHCI) are not there either. If I hot plug in a drive or a flash drive the Icon appears and if I click it the drive appears on the list however if I click safely remove the said drive it does not power down as it used to with the MSAHCI driver. With the MS driver the list contained ALL of my drives and if I clicked safely remove the drive it would power down (lights out) and then I could remove it. I don't think Its a good idea to remove the drive while its still powered up? With the small gain in performance and this issue I don't think it's worth it.

Intel® RST 9.6 supports TRIM in AHCI and pass through modes for RAID. A bug has been submitted to change the string that indicates TRIM is supported on RAID volumes (0, 1, 5, 10). Intel is continuing to investigate the ability of providing TRIM support for all RAID volumes in a future release.

So does this drive pertain to Intel chipsets (motherboards) and SSD's capable of TRIM (Indillix, Sandforce and Intel). If that's the case then people with Indillux and Sandforce drives on P35/P45/p55/X58's should all benefit from this. My OCZ Agility is running fine TRIM'd with the default Win7 AHCI driver, however if some performance can be gained by using Intels driver I'd be interested.
