I just saw it as an option in the bios of a laptop (gs45 chipset). I looked it up, says it will boost the cpu clock frequency if one core is idle, so that single-threaded apps can run faster.
But it's available in the bios as an enable/disable option. So, what's the downside? The default on this laptop is "disabled". Is this just the typical performance versus heat output kind of deal?
